The concept of preparing a bug out bag is to have a backpack ready to go at all times that is both accessible and transportable. You need to be able to simply pick up the bag and head out without fear of lacking any necessities. A bug out bag is equipped with the latest gadgets and tools coupled with food and possible shelter so that you can survive out in the wilderness where things are scarce. The urban bug out bag will help you survive the period until you can find the right kind of friendly civilization or appropriate help. If you are living in a city, you need to tailor you bag for your urban environment and have the right kind of accessories and be customized accordingly.
Ian, my dear, if you’re reading this you must think I’ve abandoned you. The crash knocked you out cold and nothing I did could wake you up. I didn’t want to leave you but I have to go find help. The Cult’s watching the roads but I think there’s a way up by the falls. There’s no way I can carry the lockbox, but I got the key with me so those fuckers can’t open it. Don’t worry. I’ll be back soon. Love always, Ted.
What you see as appropriate to prepare for is up to you as you know your situation best. Serious preps for a major hurricane will prepare you for the vast majority of disasters in your area, so to a significant extent, prepping for one will prep you well for most things.
Tanner, got orders from Jacob to remove Elliot and his family from their house. They’ve been a thorn in our ass for far too long. Make sure you check their bunker, they could be hiding in there. Use whatever means necessary. – Billy You can also hear chatter over the radio letting you know that reinforcements will be arriving soon.
Finally, as you reach the entrance, there are three waiting in this hallway/room. Once they’ve been dealt with, return to the top of the tunnel and head through the now-open door to claim your stash prizes.
Severe drought or weather, natural disaster, or a man-made catastrophe like an EMP can bring on food shortages, and famine, followed by starvation. Millions go hungry. Countless people die. Survival secrets to surviving a famine — and the supplies to get now.
Just what I expected, small for small hands, not intended for big jobs. Have not used them, and hope I never have to they are for BOBs. Skinning, and butchering jobs on small game and fish. Not intended to fell trees for a cabin, or split firewood, just for in camp use on small jobs, and my grandson thinks they are cool, that’s a good enough reason for me. John Kretzer

Head down the pier to the small shed – you’ll find another note from a cultist explaining that he’s trying to shoot the lock from across the reservoir. Head up onto the roof of the shack and use whatever your preferred long-range weapon is to take him out.

Precious metals have been moneys since before Jesus. That deserves some respect. The other part about these precious metals is that their value increases over time. Its very important that you take into consideration that your dollars do little more than collect germs over time. In fact, with the growing national debt you could say …
Once you’ve gotten some idea of what you need to do and how to do it, you really need to sit down and make an overall plan. This is kind of like making an outline for a book or story. This is where you’ll list any plans you have or things you still need to do in general terms. You should be continually updating this overall emergency plan. It should be in one place (or exact copies) that anyone in the family will know where it is to grab. I’d keep it in a binder at the house and some kind of copy in your bug out bag. Digital backups are always a good idea but don’t make it your only method.
Much has been written on how to start Prepping. This article is meant to be a guide for you, not an all encompassing list. We are well aware though that it can be very daunting and seem an insurmountable task to “Become Prepared”. We want to help you weed through the plethora of information out there and help you to get started right away.
We have seen regional disasters strike repeatedly in recent years and the near future looks like more are heading are way and may get worse. Don’t make this common mistake with your insurance policy and lose everything when catastrophic disaster strikes!
When it comes to preparing for a pandemic, it’s not something that is high on our preparedness list, although it’s nowhere near the bottom either. I think this is because in the United States we … [Continue…]
Turn one lavender plant into many by taking cuttings and replanting- it’s so easy! Lavender has many uses not only in the prepping world but in everyday life, for me I use lavender as a sleep aid and make natural air fresheners to freshen my house and car. I found a great article that shows …
After you cross the large cavernous room with the scaffolding on the left-hand side, you’ll continue down a hall until you reach a large pump and a generator. Activate the generator to unlock the door to the stash back at the start of the tunnel.
I geared it toward people who have made few, if any, preparations for a disaster, but are interested in the possibility. I also made it pretty generic – no specific type of disaster in mind. Ramping up from a three day supply to several weeks or even months is pretty much a matter of just adding more of the same stuff, so anyone can can customise it easily for whatever situation they envision.
This is the birthday of Washington Irving, an American author, essayist, biographer, historian, and diplomat of the early 19th century. Now, as we approach the end of the calendar year, I am updating the original article and posting it again with a few more tips plus links to the individual monthly posts. For those of you getting started, I hope you will find this useful as begin your journey toward self-reliance.
I totally agree: Do NOT overwhelm yourself. Go one day (or paycheck) at a time. I do all of the food buying in our family and, I have to agree, it is extremely easy to get overwhelmed worrying over all the numbers.
The overwhelming popularity of the 12 Months of Prepping series took me by surprise. I was astounded. What started as a basic roadmap for a modest number of readers, expanded and grew to where in each month, I was receiving hundreds of emails asking me questions, offering tips and lending support for my monthly prepping articles.
After Katrina, our politicians, who are fervent lovers of state action, loudly told us that we Individually need to be prepared for at least a couple weeks after we get solidly hit by a big one. A month would better still.
