“Buy Comments For The Magnetic Laundry System Review laundry magnets work”

Can MWT control scale deposition? Does it really soften the water? One might think that the question of whether magnetic water treatment is effective would by now have long been settled by scientific and engineering studies, but this is unfortunately not the case.

Thank you for what I consider to be an unbiased review. I was tempted to buy the magnets after a trusted source of mine recommend them (they will be getting a link to your review and a stern finger shaking from me), and my desire to avoid harmful chemicals in my day to day life.
Washing clothes with less detergent is a good idea. In some cases, even washing clothes with no detergent is a good idea. But people don’t need this product to use less or no detergent. All they need is the knowledge that they don’t need to use as much detergent to get their clothes clean.
Busch et al. (1997) measured the scale formed by the distillation of hard water with and without magnetic treatment. Using laboratory-prepared hard water, a 22 percent reduction in scale formation was observed when the magnetic treatment device was used instead of a straight pipe section. However, a 17 percent reduction in scaling was found when an unmagnetized, but otherwise identical, device was installed. Busch et al. (1997) speculate that fluid turbulence inside the device may be the cause of the 17 percent reduction, with the magnetic field effect responsible for the additional 5 percent. River water was subjected to similar tests, but no difference in scale formation was found with and without the magnetic treatment device installed. An explanation for this negative result was not found.
Although MWT appears to be effective in some cases, the parameters of water composition, magnetic field strength, treatment geometry and flow rate that lead to satisfactory performance have never been clearly defined. Closer study often reveals that other factors (such as pH change) could account for the improvements that might otherwise be attributed to MWT.
“There are many varieties of laundry balls that purport to replace laundry detergent by modifying the structure of water to make it clean better. The Life Miracle Laundry System (*est. $50) uses a “powerful, specially calibrated magnetism to help alter the basic nature of water and increase its natural solvency,” (according to the manufacturer). The website lists dozens of testimonials from happy customers. However, in a test by Australia’s Choice magazine, this product achieves similar results to washing with plain water. An informative website called “H2O dot con” is helmed by a former chemistry professor; Stephen Lower discusses the inaccuracies behind the scientific claims made by the manufacturers of these magnetic laundry products. The writer concludes that, “The best that can be said of magnetic laundry balls is that they help agitate the fabrics, but you can accomplish the same thing by dropping a rock into the washing machine. Otherwise, these devices are worthless.”
I’ve ordered some for my sister (I can’t mail order anything for myself cuz I live in Italy and the postal service can’t be trusted!!), so maybe I can post back with my sister’s comments as soon as she gets it.
In 2009 the Spanish consumer organization OCU made a study of “ecobolas” (a type of laundry ball marketed in Spain). It compared the efficacy of the laundry ball, normal detergent, and no detergent at all. It concluded that laundry balls were no better than using just water, and it recommended that consumers simply use a minimum amount of detergent.[6]
BUYER BEWARE. Do not buy from this company. I bought this product on 19 May & received notification from Water liberty it is out of stock & will be delivered in July. It did not arrive, I asked for a …refund 28 July & was told they will refund my money. It’s now 18 August, I still don’t have my money back and Water Liberty is not replying to my emails. See More
The “torque” a magnet could apply to a water molecule would be far too minute to compete with ordinary thermal motions, which would in any case disrupt any temporary orientation even if it were to occur. There is no known way of utilizing electric potentials to cause the carbonate to precipitate as aragonite.
The US Federal Trade Commission published in 1999 about laundry balls, rings and discs: “Tests show that these gadgets do little more than clean out your wallet. At best, they’re marginally better than washing clothes in hot water alone, and not as effective as washing them with laundry detergent. At worst, the products are completely useless.”[13]
A.  The most obvious and important fact is that using the MLS instead of detergents is preventing petrochemicals from getting dumped into our fresh water supplies, helping to preserve our most valuable natural resource critical for human survival. Furthermore, bypassing the rinse cycle can save massive additional water usage (20-40 gallons of fresh water per load), electricity (derived mostly from burning coal and oil which are big pollutants), natural gas (for heating the extra water) and sewage. It also may possibly help reduce the causes of global warming–since such a massive amount of detergents are made and used around the world, significant (fossil fuels) are used in its manufacturing and delivery.
The utter lack of published test data is revealing. According to the vendors, magnetic fuel treatment has been around for at least fifty years. If it actually worked as claimed, it seems likely that it would by now be commonplace. It is not.
The lab report claims, “As is standard for this type of testing, a water control was also run to provide baseline/control data.”  However, the published results include only before/after data for the load run with the magnets, i.e., they do not show how washing laundry with the magnets compares to washing with just water.
Thank you for your interest in this question. Because it has attracted low-quality or spam answers that had to be removed, posting an answer now requires 10 reputation on this site (the association bonus does not count).
Because the Magnetic Laundry System is completely reusable you’ll see a potential return on investment. These days almost everything you buy is a consumable. Basically you use them once and throw them away, only to replace them. Laundry detergent and capsules are consumables. They are only good for one use. That’s not the case with this laundry system, which offers multiple uses. If you were to spend $70 a month on laundry detergent and other laundry related products then the Magnetic Laundry System pays for itself in a month. Everything after that is essentially a “profit”.
Unfortunately most of the other solutions I came across required me to mix my own homemade solution of things like borax (not the Dr Seuss character.  That’s a Lorax), washing soda, and some sort of soap.  All well and good but I am terrible about remembering to buy laundry detergent on it’s own, the last thing I need is a LIST of things to buy that I then have to mix at home.
The dog balls will work fine on their own, without anything, I think I get better result with the baking soda and salt. The baking soda deodorizes the clothes. The salt helps to get rid of perspiration stains, helps prevent colour bleeding, and as we live on a farm, it kills any nasties including chicken flea eggs.
To get the best results, ensure you put two magnet balls into the washer before switching on the washer.  After turning on the machine, you need to add one ounce of the soil eradicator. This is a natural citrus enzyme that helps break soil particles that form stains on the fabric.  However, the soil eradicator is only applicable if the fabrics or clothes you are washing are heavily soiled. For fabrics that do not have much soil loads, the soil eradicator may be overlooked. Never forget that magnetic laundry system is not intended to be a stain remover but rather a wholesome washing facility thus the need for the eradicator in case of tough stains. After adding the soil eradicator it is advisable to soak fully before washing can begin.
OK, the slightly better showing by the disks may be a fluke. Other investigations (e.g., the aforementioned CR test, reported in the February 1995 issue) found no difference. The real surprise is that Tide didn’t perform much better than plain water. I’m not saying you need laundry balls or disks. But the soap makers’ dirty little secret, you should pardon the expression, is that you might not need conventional detergent either.

“Buy The Laundry Magnets Work Near Me laundry magnets scam”

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time. It doesn’t matter how many people have been hoodwinked if there is no objective scientific evidence that the product works.
This was a great buy for me because it allowed me to separate the white clothes from colored clothes so easily! It’s made of a canvas material that’s quite durable. The lid itself has a hard structure, so i can lay stuff on it when it’s closed. It also has a magnet on the front to keep it closed, and Velcro on backside for attachment. Very convenient! As for the size, it’s a good 2 loads when full. I bought a couple of the square pop up laundry mesh bags from the dollar tree stores and it fits inside the hamper perfectly. That makes it easy to just pull the bags out to wash. Overall this is a great double hamper!
As I told you in email, Judy, I do not believe in posting people’s private email without their permission. But that rule goes out the window when they make false accusations against me which their private emails disprove or say things in public which contradict things they said to me in private. Continue down this path, and you will find your emails to me published on this blog for all to see, and I assure you, it won’t be pretty. Please consider this fair warning.
Yep. I bought the products. Washed a few loads with them. All the stains remain, of course, because the “enzymatic cleaner” is the real hook and, with it, I’m guessing most who report being “satisfied” with their results also purchased the cleaner. What disappoints me most is the smell of my clothing; hard water, antique pipes, and I get clothes that smell like iron and whatever else is lurking in the pipes. But, in addition, dirt remains – the kind under the cuffs of sleeves and on the edges of garments that have brushed up against the car covered with sooty snow….
Right, because no one could possibly be motivated to spend the time debunking crackpot science out of a desire to elevate the general level of scientific education in the world and help prevent people from wasting their money on products that don’t work.
Some magnetic products claim that they “change the molecular structure of water”,[13] a pseudoscientific claim with no real scientific basis.[2] There is no such thing as “magnetized water”.[11] Water is not paramagnetic, which means that water molecules don’t align in the presence of a magnetic field.[11] Water is repelled by magnets because it’s diamagnetic, but to such a small degree that most instruments can’t detect it.[14]
Although one purpose of detergents is to reduce the surface tension of water so as to encourage it to spread evenly over a surface instead of forming droplets, the primary role of a detergent is to “solubilize” small particles of grease-like “dirt”. Detergent molecules tend to be long chains that possess water-soluble properties on one end, and water-insoluble (oil-like) properties on the other end. Operating on the principle that “like dissolves like”, the water-insoluble ends tend to embed themselves in the dirt particles so that the water-soluble ends stick out, disguising the particle as water-soluble and enabling it to be washed away. I am not aware that any claims that magnets can serve this function.

As we all know, the products of fuel oxidation are responsible for much of the pollution of our precious air and water supply.

I started using the laundry magnets a few months ago. I love them. My laundry gets clean, I don’t have chemicals eating away with my skin or clothes. The dryer balls are great also and they do cut …back on drying time as much as 15 minutes per load. If I feel the need for bleach, I use a bit of Borax. 20 Mule Team® Borax is also a natural alternative to Color Safe Bleach, and naturally softens hard water. No need for full cycles when washing. Just wash and rinse. They really do work and my water and electric bill have gone down significantly. Don’t believe any negative comments about these products. They really do work. Happy in South Florida. See More
I couldn’t judge the difference from laundry washed in oxi-clean until after shower. The bath towel washed with magnets does not become smelly after drying my long hair and body. Towel washed other ways usually become quite smelly right after use, or within just few minutes. The smell means that there are lots of microorganisms harboring on the towel, and the dry towel contain much stuff for them to eat. When the towel gets wet every creature wakes up and uses the nutrients from the not-so-clean towel as food and produce bad smell. I am thrilled about the thorough cleanliness the magnets achieve. I will recommend friends and relatives to use it.
Yes, the initial purchase stings. I purchased the MLS from Water Liberty. It cost $69.99 for the starter pack of two magnets, plus $5.99 for shipping. However, MLS offers a limited lifetime warranty, and claims your family might save $500 per year if you stop buying detergent from the store. A total of $75 for laundry for the rest of my life, or even just the next five years? SOLD.
This 2001 report describes a survey of 106 technical papers on MWT and presents detailed summaries of the 34 articles that were judged to meet the scientific criteria established by the group. None of these articles addressed the question of whether or not MWT or PWT “works”, nor was this judgment made by the Task Force, whose main objective was simply to bring together scientifically useful information that might inform further research in the field.
Influence of altering magnetic field on chemical properties of water, scale formation and morphology was studied using polyethylene and copper pipes located both in a laboratory pilot-system and in an apartment complex formed by five different buildings each having four or five different homes. In the pilot network, magnetic field decreased scaling by 15% in the both studied piping materials. Also, surface film on the copper pipe appeared to be less compact by the magnetic exposure. In the studies conducted in the apartment complex, magnetic field effectively mobilized earlier accumulated iron and copper from the copper pipe surfaces especially dealing with a hot water circuit.
“Nature imparts on water a unique structure that closely interacts with the Earth’s natural paramagnetic force,” according to Nature’sAlternatives.com. “It is this force that gives rivers its oscillating snake-like appearance. It is this structure that gives water ‘life’. Living water is that which has been structured by nature and carries the life-giving force the body needs. It is this water that heals the body.” It is this water that’s gonna cost you $499.95 (U.S.)

A: Absolutely. We just recommend that if you have a front loader, you place the Magnetic Laundry System units in the pockets of a pair of pants or in a pair of thick socks before running the cycle (preferably pants pockets). This eliminates any noise the force of the horizontal axis may create. Although magnetic force should not be in direct contact with electronics, the Magnetic Laundry System is used in the water drum and is far enough away to have zero impact on the electronic controls if used properly. Just do not rest them on the electronic control panel. Also, the two Magnetic Laundry System units combined weigh just a fraction of one pair of wet jeans (12 ounces compared to 80 ounces respectively). So you don’t need to be concerned with any significant added weight.
The electrons spend more time around the oxygen and less time around the hydrogen, making it positive. The permanent magnets create a powerful magnetic field that aligns the water molecules (hydrogen in one direction, oxygen in the other). This alignment drastically reduced the “surface tension” of the water. This results in the “drops” becoming much smaller so that they can easily penetrate the fabric.
So what instrumentation does Fenestra Research actually use in its research? The clinical trial report doesn’t say. It does, however, draw utterly unwarranted conclusions backed up by no legitimate laboratory data, saying:
But the demand for alternative/DIY detergent hacks is very much real, and we’re always on the lookout for innovative laundry products. With that in mind, we procured a couple Crystal Wash laundry balls to see if they actually work as advertised.
[It] causes the naturally formed chemical associations (hydrocarbon clusters) to break apart into a single, potentiated molecular state. This single charged molecular state burns more uniformly and completely (efficiently) because the fuel has become fully atomized and ionized with oxygen.

“Buy Amazon Magnetic Laundry System US laundry magnet reviews”

It has been firmly established in the world scientific theatre that the Positive, expanding, field influence of the South Pole makes liquids more soluble (lowering surface tension); thereby hydrating, dissolving, and removing calcite and other mineral/various water by-product build-up in pipes and equipment. The Positive field hydrates all mineral build-up by de-clustering the liquid and solid pre- and post nucleated crystalline scale material. … The random configuration of a water molecules is changed to a charged and organized form with their shape & size also modified. In the process, the associations clustering around the suspended particles are broken up as the molecules line up in polarization. The fluid’s paramagnetic properties allow for more dissolved material to be contained in it due to increased efficiency of the fluid’s available space. It appears that the magnetic treatment allows the carbon dioxide (CO2) to stay dissolved in water of a higher temperature. Calcium carbonate is converted back to calcium bicarbonate. [link]

In the video, they washed only the shirts in the washing machine.  This means that the magnets were free to move around the drum and bang against the shirt, thus helping to get it clean.  You could accomplish the same thing with a couple of rocks.  They didn’t test for that, nor did they compare washing with the magnets to washing with just water.

Claims that commercial devices bring about significant reductions in water surface tension or lead to the various benefits that might accrue from this effect should not be taken seriously in the absence of credible performance data.
When this happens, the water is considered “activated”.  Along with this process, the minerals and salts suspended in the water become activated into an “ionic”  form, (charged particles), aiding in the cleaning process.
A good example of the kind of crackpot pseudoscience that some vendors employ to hawk their wares to a credulous public is illustrated by these quotes from a site which offers the following misinformation:
To remove stains, regular detergent enhances the water’s already present magnetic force. Now, you don’t need to use detergent to improve the force, especially when magnets are a better, more economical, and environmentally friendly solution. The magnets cause the water to pull out the dirt, grease, odors, and other compounds from your clothing, without harming the fibers. Moreover, you’ll notice that the results are just as effective or are even better than traditional detergents. As the brand explains, water is the universal solvent and now, you can tap into its power with this revolutionary and effective magnet system.
Update: My credit card company just credited me the cost of the laundry magnets including shipping which I was told not to expect. They needed proof of my mailing the laundry magnets back, so without an address to send them back to (Detergent Truth refused to give me an address or an RA# because it was past 60 days, but a scam is a scam). So I sent them to the address on the warranty card. Thanks Jonathon for the info on this site. I cited it when I described the scam to my credit card company. Too bad this company refuses to return calls or emails.
I work in the restaurant business, I like them to try them on our clothing before I buy them. Getting out grease, blood, and different sauces is a pain. I really haven’t found anything that works 100%
I ordered magnets, never saw them !!! as a bonus offer I directed delivery to my 75yr. Old mother. The second set at $10 cheaper. The package was supposed to contain 2 magnets for washing clothes. Ins…tead it was something like tennis balls. For $50 plus to return was a nightmare with customer service. My origional order was out of stock they claimed , but charged me for it ahead of time. I waited over 2 months , when it finally arrived I had already demanded my refund / so I returned it unopened ! Not wanting to waste time with customer service again. My mom shipped me the gift I sent her to send back at a cost of $15 , then I shipped it back at $15 so post office made $45 on this product offer of buy second set at a discount….they substituted another product to send my mom, causing total confusion & long distance to explain to her. My refund took another 30 days from my cancellation ! They use your money people !!! See More
The other thing that has surfaced in this investigation is that Brian Clement of the Hippocrates Institute — who also claims to be a “Dr.” — has endorsed Adya Clarity and seems to believe the fraudulent research.
Over eleven years after the first patent behind this product was filed, there isn’t a single washing-machine manufacturer in the entire world selling a machine which uses this technology to clean clothes. Is that plausible if it really works?
If you are looking for the best product which doesn’t cause any toxic laundry, then you are at the right place. Magnetic Laundry System is the perfect choice for you. Magnetic Laundry System is the best double patented technology that helps you wash all your clothes without using even a single drop of toxic chemical detergent.
I have no control over the ads on my blog. They’re selected automatically by Google AdSense based on the content of each page. And since I’ve made a total of something like $200 in the four years or so since I put ads on the blog, believe me, nobody’s paying me to run ads in support of the laundry detergent industry.
Soaps and detergents operate in two ways, namely by reducing the surface tension but also by forming tiny globules around hydrophobic “dirt” particles and effectively rendering them soluble– a process known as emulsification. Soaps have been known since ancient times.
Yes, that’s right. Magnetic Laundry System has passed numerous tests and is proven to be the most affordable and safest detergent to use. It consists of an independent lab testing report from one of the largest companies in the world, i.e, Shuster Laboratories, which has now changed its name to UL Consumer Products. The result states that Magnetic Laundry System undoubtedly cleans the clothes without damaging the colours, elasticity or the tensile strength of the clothes.
Thank you for what I consider to be an unbiased review. I was tempted to buy the magnets after a trusted source of mine recommend them (they will be getting a link to your review and a stern finger shaking from me), and my desire to avoid harmful chemicals in my day to day life.

The truth is, most of the claims made by washing ball manufacturers are completely fake. Can these mineral beads change the pH level of water? No. Can they break down water molecules? No. If you look at any website for a laundry ball company, you’ll see that, in general, you need to use very hot water with your washing ball (which is where the cleaning power comes from), and that washing balls are not designed to tackle stains or smells. If they don’t tackle stains or smells, what do they do? They wet clothes. No more, no less. Well, that’s not entirely true. They can also ruin clothes, let’s not forget about that. The Better Business Bureau and the US Federal Trade Commission released a joint statement back in 1999 stating that ‘at best, they’re marginally better than washing clothes in hot water alone, and not as effective as washing them with laundry detergent.
In fact, in the entire Water Liberty / Adya Clarity “clinical trial” report, there is astonishingly no mention whatsoever of ICP-MS testing of human blood, urine or even hair samples. No methodologies using ICP-MS are described at all.
For some users, MWT seems to be effective in controlling scale deposition; there are too many favorable anecdotal reports to dismiss it entirely. Looking at the carefully done studies on actual installations, the results are mixed. This suggests that the conditions under which MWT is effective are dependent on factors that are not well understood. Scientific studies on model systems suggest that magnetic fields can have subtle effects on water[⇒] and can affect carbonate precipitation[⇒], even though H2O molecules are not paramagnetic. Some studies have shown that the presence of certain substances in the water can affect scale precipitation; these include iron ions, phosphates, silica[⇒], and oxygen.
If you know that it may in fact be “just the water” that’s cleaning your clothes, which is indeed the whole point of my exposé of the Magnet Laundry System, then why would you be “happy to use the laundry magnets”? Why would you be happy to pay for something you don’t actually need? Why not just wash in plain water and not waste your money on the magnets?
Of all the detergents available in the world, Magnetic Laundry System is unique. According to a recent study performed on July 23rd, 2008, 99% of the world’s detergents release the banned cancer-causing chemicals that are immensely toxic to our health. However, Magnetic Laundry System is safe to use and doesn’t release any cancer-causing or hazardous chemicals.
“When water is magnetically charged, it electrically takes on a greater ionic charge than the minerals which creates a natural magnetic attraction between the two…. Softening and better taste occurs from an actual reduction in the size of the water molecule… The small magnetized water molecule has a greater solvency and a magnetic attraction that results in cleaner bathing and washing which cleans and washes like soft water. The smaller molecular size also has less evaporative surface area which magnetically and dramatically reduces the gases and foul taste of sulfur, chlorine and fluoride, etc. [link]
For anyone that is confused or angry because they use the magnets and they “work,” you’re probably just better off using them and ignoring these sort of pages. More power to you. There is much more factual evidence provided by this author than by the manufacturer of these magnets. By the way, if you have any physicist or engineering friends, just hand the box to them and watch their face. I’m sure you’ll see the B.S. meter light up instantly in their eyes. Trust the guys who do this for a living and actually understand physics, chemistry, scientific method, etc. This product stinks like a rat.

A Guarantee that our customers can try the product in their own home and evaluate it for themselves to form their OWN opinion. If their opinion is that the product does not work as advertised, they will get their money back. This product is NOT, in any way shape or form, a “scam”. It is a product that was awarded two patents from the U.S. Patent Office that truly works and provides many benefits to the end user. We all have been using it for many years and have experienced outstanding results, as have thousands of others.

There are a number of magnetic devices on the market that purport to increase the efficiency of laundry detergents, or even reduce the need for them entirely by making water “wetter” (reduce its surface tension), thereby allowing the water to more easily penetrate into fabrics and wash the dirt away. Virtually all of these promoters repeat the false claim, found again and again on Web sites, that a magnetic field will reduce the surface tension of water. Any high school student who can borrow a glass capillary tube and a small permanent magnet from the school science lab can easily demonstrate that this is pure rubbish. Neither this, nor the complete lack of any mention of this effect in the very extensive body of scientific literature on the interfacial properties of water, seems to have had the slightest effect on inhibiting the spreading of this lie by hucksters of all kinds.

Some balls are refillable with small pellets of detergent which are sold only by the manufacturer of the ball. Critics question whether the amount and type of detergent released by these balls is sufficient to generate significant cleaning effects.[9][10]

Physics shows that chemicals change weight under the influence of magnetic fields. So does water. More hydroxyl (OH-) ions are created to form calcium bicarbonate and other alkaline molecules. It is these molecules that help to reduce acidity.

(That’s not even a complete list.) Some of these deal specifically with the Life Miracle Magnetic Laundry System and other magnetic laundry products, some of them deal specifically with the classic TradeNet “laundry balls” scam and products like them, and some of them deal with both. All are relevant, because Life Miracle is using exactly the same strategies for marketing its product as all the other laundry scams have used in the past (claims to revolutionary technology, reliance on anecdotal evidence, environmentalist appeal, etc.), and like the perpetrators of all those other scams, Life Miracle has offered no objective evidence that its product works.

I’m a Mom of 4 very messy children. My boys play hard, all 4 of my kids help with all of the animals- Horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks… We all stink by the end of the day. And I work as a Realtor, so I need to be clean and not stink, not to mention it’s just a nice thing to do for everyone right? I was a total skeptic, but I was willing to give this a try. After the first load I was impressed with how clean everything was and I still continue to be impressed! I don’t want a lot of chemicals in or around my home, so this is a perfect alternative. Here are some before and after pictures of a typical pair of jeans worn by my 9 year old. The mud has dried on because I was too exhausted to do laundry when he came in the evening before. I washed them on a quick cycle for 26 minutes on cold with a full load and everything came out clean and fresh. I’m a believer.

The only thing missing is the one thing which Life Miracle could publish only if the product actually works: the results of rigorous laboratory tests showing that clothes washed with the magnets end up cleaner than clothes washed in nothing but water.

When it finished spinning, I was right there pulling out the towels and sticking my nose into them….NO SMELL….a “clean” smell – but not perfume….I was astonished and ended up sniffing almost every towel in that load….

Those are super cute!! I’m not even sure I can move on to your sprucing up the laundry posts. My washer and dryer live in the garage, and we don’t have a linen closet. (Boohooooo!) Okay, I still should organize those spaces, even if they’re less than ideal. Off to read now… 🙂

I dont know why I’m taking the time to respond, have you used the magnets? I have for a year now and they work great!! I work in a dirty sweaty enviroment and my close come out clean as a whistle.. You don’t know what your talking about….

Free Yourself!…Laundry Detergents Are Petrochemicals Derived From Crude Oil–NOT Natural Soaps. Because Oil Has Hit Record Highs, So Has the Cost Of Detergent. You Can’t Stop the Financial Pain Of Fueling Your Car, But At Least You Can Stop “Fueling” Your Washing Machine!

Love it. I received these magnets as a gift, and I had the same line of thinking as the author here. Glad that someone else ran the test for me. I figure, “Hey, I just got a couple of cool rubber-coated magnets to play with!” I’m not going to wash clothes with them, but it’ll still be fun. I can’t believe more people don’t stop and ask the basic questions first. It’s too bad that they tend to get a little offended and defensive when I do. I can’t believe that a company can get away with this. Thanks for bringing this to light and running it through the B.S. test for us.

Although magnetically influencing water is a concept somewhat “out of the mainstream” (our patents were some of the first in the field) there has been scientific precedence to support the theory. Although it is fair to challenge theories that are new, different and out of the mainstream, it is exceedingly unfair to call them a “scam”.

Magnetic force is one of the most powerful forces on earth. In fact, the earth itself is like a giant magnet with a north and south pole. It is an amazing source of natural energy. Even the weak magnets on your refrigerator defy the force of gravity without batteries or being plugged into any power source. They will stay on your refrigerator, doing work and holding up papers for decades with no external power source. Where does all this natural power come from? From the environment around us. It is completely renewable and totally free.

Except, of course, that everything you do to make money in your life is predicated on convincing people that “mainstream” is bad and “alternative” is good, so convincing people that the people debunking crackpot science are all part of the mainstream conspiracy helps you sell more of your own products.

Magnetic Laundry System is the patented magnetic technology that helps you to get your clothes without the use of toxic laundry detergent. By simply using this patented magnetic product, It includes the independent lab testing report from one of the top testing companies in the world. This patent technology will verify the unequivocally that this product does clean all of your garments and does not damage the colors or any tensile strength of your fabrics. “I am very skeptical about trying new products, and especially something that doesn’t use soap to clean your clothes. I cannot believe how clean the clothes come out! I have white towels in my powder room, and I purposely only washed one of them to compare. The washed one came out white! I also like that the clothes come out smelling fresh and they stay fresh smelling even after putting them away and not using them for a few days. It is amazing that you can wash clothes with only magnets and no soap. I am truly sold on this product and will continue to use it and save money on laundry soap that isn’t good for you or the environment. Thanks!“

ABI, a Japanese outfit, offers a Cells Alive System (CAS) whose purpose is to improve the industrial-scale fast-freezing process by inhibiting the growth of ice crystals that tend to break down cell walls when foods are frozen. The idea is to employ a magnetic field to allow the food to be supercooled (that is, cooled below the freezing point without forming ice), and then turning off the field causing the ice to form so rapidly that only very small crystals are able to grow. A fine idea, except for the fact that I know of no evidence that a magnetic field is able to alter the freezing point of water. The CAS promotion claims that the magnetic field acts by aligning “the magnetic moment of the electrons” — which strikes me as scientific nonsense, given that all 10 electrons in H2O are paired so that the molecule has a zero magnetic moment. A 2006 article in a South African food processing magazine describes the process in more detail, but confuses the issue by invoking the use of an alternating electric field as well (which should have the same effect as a microwave oven) and making the unlikely claim that a glass of water frozen by this method will not break.

Just as only way you can prove that your product actually works is to provide objective evidence that it cleans better than water alone, the only way you can prove that you actually care how your customers are treated is to sever your relationship with any distributor which is found to be cheating people.

A good example is the very well-written but scientifically dubious 1997 article Quinn C. J., Sanderson C. W, Molden, T.C, “Magnetic treatment of water prevents mineral build-up”, published in 8/97 Iron and Steel Engineer

A Euro-Wash Laundry Ball Detergent Replacement (U.S. $49.95) information page once noted that it will “last you an unlimited number of washes. Depending on the amount of washes you do weekly, that should be over ten years for the average family.”

Sometimes it’s a matter of personal preference: I like Hunt’s ketchup and my partner likes Heinz. But valid testing of getting dirty clothes clean leaves no doubt on which method or detergent is mor effective.

Because of the high level of aluminum it contains, despite the lab tests listed on the WaterLiberty website that show the product may help remove some contaminants from you water, we have a great deal of concern related to the health risks you’d be exposed to as a result.

Also, do you use any of the stain pre-treaters that the manufacturer recommends for tough stains? Has it occurred to you that those treatments are in fact concentrated detergent, and that it’s not the magnets that are getting your clothes clean, but rather the detergent?

At an atomic level, everything is affected by magnetics. All you need to do it try is for yourself and see the results with your own eyes. The Life Miracle ® Laundry System is patented and made with the highest quality materials. the system is engineered and built to give you many decades of effective service.

“Thank you for your efforts and materials which I had begun to put a bit of faith in. I do not want to impose on you but I do have 2 small suggestions in hopes that your popularity will grow even higher.

People want to believe that the magnets they just spent money on are the real deal, because the alternative to that is admitting that they did something stupid and got ripped off. People don’t like doing that, so they unconsciously rationalize and filter to avoid having to do so. Scammers know this, and they are adept at using it to get people to buy their products.

“The technology exploits quantum electrodynamic processes to transfer energy into the water passing through the unit. As a result, potential energy stored within the water is significantly enhanced. When that water hits the soil, the stored potential energy is released, opening up soils and improving infiltration and percolation of water.” [link]

People who buy these magnets and think that their clothes are being cleaned by them are actually taking advantage of the detergents left behind on the clothes from before they switched to the magnets.

“The Earth’s magnetic field helps create the great taste of fresh fruits. During the long growing season, fruit is held in a relatively constant position in relation to the Earth’s magnetic field, aligning the liquid particles much like tiny compass needles. This natural balance gives fresh picked fruit its smooth, natural flavor.

This is slightly less than the retail price of the magnet system, but I would be removing the chemicals from our clothes, doing the environment a bit of a favor, and after year 1, I would be SAVING MONEY.

2. The activated ceramics also emit “far infrared electromagnetic waves” which cause water molecule clusters to disassociate, allowing much smaller individual water molecules to penetrate into the innermost part of the fabric and remove dirt.

UPDATE: There’s an excellent description here of why the alleged science behind the Magnetic Laundry System is bunk.  It’s excellent because it’s both extremely clear and extremely succinct.  Money quote: “This is just crazy gobbledegook made to sound impressive so people who don’t have any chemistry education will be impressed.”  Follow the link for more.

This product removes any noise which may be created by the force of the horizontal axis. You don’t have to stick to the machine to supervise if it works properly. It works well with all the variety of washing machines. The laundry units may end up sticking together in the washing process, hence the units should be submerged or put in the water for maximum effectiveness.

According to the brand, a package of two units of the laundry system can be used for many years and aside from saving you the hassle of having to buy detergent, it can save you a great deal of money as well. The system also does not use any chemicals or harmful compounds to provide you with results. As the brand explains, with this product, you no longer need to rely upon harmful formulas that contain common ingredients such as pesticides, imitation estrogen, and other toxins. Research shows that these toxins not only lead to harm over the long term, but they are not good for your clothes either.

“I have purchased the laundry magnets. I did my first wash load this past weekend and was very pleased with the outcome. The clothes smelled clean…no chemically-induced “scent”, no chemical residues and no negative environmental impact…just clean and healthy clothes…and a clear conscience !! In a nut shell, I wish to thank you so much and wish you and your family health and happiness. Keep up your outstanding work and contributions.“

You usually don’t need to use as much detergent as the company recommends. I start with the minimum recommended by the company, it usually works just fine for all my clothes. We own boats and my husband comes home with really gross dirty clothes and I will add a little extra then. Same goes with dish detergent. When I cured myself of filling both detergent cups in my dishwasher, my dishes were still clean, I just didn’t go through as much detergent

The magnets will not significantly improve the agitation in the wash. The only way to do that is not to overload the washer, and also frankly to use a front-loading washer rather than a top-loading washer, since the front-loaders achieve far better agitation with less water and less detergent.

It is important to recognize that Water Liberty Magnetic Laundry System is an odorless product. Since it is a simple magnet that attaches to your washer, the only scent that you’ll notice on your clothing is essentially nothing. As the brand mentions, the most natural and correct scent that should arise out of your laundry wash is no scent at all.

Still, the apparent safety of the pureWash and Wash It systems doesn’t change the fact that they don’t really work better than most detergents. And that of course diminishes the money savings—which aren’t that great to begin with. For example, the $300 pureWash is supposed to last 10 years. Depending on how often you do the laundry, it would take anywhere from 8 to 11 years to use about $300 of one of our Best Buy detergents—and of course you’d have really clean clothes in the process.

There is no independent scientific research on the Web site pertaining to the efficacy of the product.  Under the heading “Clinical Research” on the Web page is not proof that the magnets work, but rather quotes from a 2005 Sierra Club press release about supposedly dangerous chemicals in laundry detergents.  The pamphlet that comes with the product says that it has been “independently proven,” but there is no evidence of this.
One of the most pressing considerations that you may be thinking about is how this system works. After all, just the idea of a magnet cleaning your clothes seems ridiculous. However, there is a science behind it that has not only been tested, but proven to work as well.
“By holding purified water, fresh juice or herbal teas in the Magnetic Energy Cup for 5 minutes or more, your liquids become restructured, ‘living’ and charged with energy. The magnets in the Magnetic Energy Cup can change the actual structure of liquids, increase the negative ions (good ions), make the liquids more alkaline and increase the amount of oxygen available for your cells. Another measured benefit of magnetized water is that its surface tension is lowered, which makes the water absorb much easier through the human membranes. What actually happens is that water gains ‘living’ liquid energy!” [link]

I’m really pretty stunned that they seem to work. I have dogs, so I put sheets over the beds. These sheets get pretty grimy,so they were my test…yes, they came out fine, no trace of dog on them and smelling good. I’m going to be using them and not detergent from now on and would recommend them. The down side is they are not available in Canada, only through US Amazon. I am close to the border so had the shipped to an address there and avoid the extra shipping fee. Not sure why they are no longer available in Canada, apparently they used to be . In summation worth the investment.
No additional rinse cycle is needed, as there are no chemical substances to wash out. You may discover that you do not require softeners or static cling eliminators. This is definitely THE 21st century laundry detergent substitute. NO HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS INTRODUCED INTO THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, OR ONTO YOUR GARMENTS TO INDUCE HEALTH ISSUES!
Laundry balls/disks allegedly eliminate or greatly reduce the need for conventional laundry detergents. You get different stories on how they’re supposed to work, including a lot of hokum about “structured water” and “nanotricity” and whatnot, none of which makes much sense. The most coherent account comes from a catalog firm called Real Goods:
The hard numbers show that the store-bought detergent did 4 percent better across the board at stain removal than Crystal Wash. Crystal Wash performed about the same as hot water, and from these results we can conclude that Crystal Wash had a negligible effect on stain removal.
Magnetic Laundry System functions truly with any type of washing. Several of the equipment are produced with the plastic drum, however this magnetic system could suit plastic likewise. This magnetic laundry system operates in all the kind of devices. That’s the elegance of this system. Magnetic Laundry System is utilized in a water drum, as well as this suffices to have an absolutely no result on digital controls when utilized appropriately. Simply do not leave them on the digital control board. Additionally, both magnetic systems of the washing incorporated are the weight of simply a set of classy pants. So you do not should bother with a noteworthy included weight. There is no fragrance contributed to this Magnetic Laundry System, yet the scent after the cleaning utilizing this magnet resembles mountain rainfall as well as springtime bloom scent.
Dear Gloria, I’ve been trying to learn about using vinegar & 2 tsp of salt as a laundry detergent replacement, and haven’t found any studies. Your comment gives me hope – do you have any references, or information/websites I can show my family? Thanks heaps!
The purpose of MWT is of course to inhibit scale deposition; whether it can also “soften” the water in the sense of removing the ions of calcium and similar elements that form soap scum and leave deposits on evaporation is not clear.
There is a long history of the promotion of magnets to alleviate the “hardness” of mineral-containing waters, and particularly to control the deposition of scale in teapots, plumbing systems, evaporators, and boilers. There are now a large variety of devices on the market that claim to reduce scale deposition, and some claim to “soften” the water as well. The earlier devices mostly employed permanent magnets, but many now use alternating magnetic or electrostatic fields. The magnetic field surrounds the pipe at some point and penetrates it from all sides. This obviously limits its use to non-ferrous pipes such as copper or plastic.
Let’s give Structured Waters Technology a chance to explain: “A type of positive — negative charge causes the water molecules to form clusters. The clusters generate a point-to-point charge variation within the water that makes it highly sensitive to electromagnetic fields. This unique electronic organization of water molecules creates the electrovibrational resonance that we call Structured Water Technology.” ($99 U.S. for one, or only $379.97 for a six-pack.)
I am a Appliance technician and I would think if these magnetic doo dads worked the appliance manufacturers would have designed a washer with this option. They haven’t so that tells you something there. Also 80% of people use to much detergent in their washers. I use half of what they recommend. My clothes clean the same as the recommended amount. On the newer style front load washers you are recommended to use HE detergent. Tide brand tells you to use 1/3 more than you should on their instruction’s. Failure to use the proper amount of HE detergent on the front load washers will prematurely wear out items on the washer creating costly repairs down the road. I thought I would share this info.
Ever since there have been cars, various schemes for achieving miraculous increases in fuel mileage have been promoted to the public. (Who has not heard the folk-fiction that somebody’s invention for running a car on water was secretly bought up by the oil companies?)
Not to mention the fact that we have no way of knowing how many customers have purchased the product or how many of them are satisfied with it, since Life Miracle has not published those statistics and I assume they have no intention of doing so.
You not want to invest time self-installing, and there are no complex elements to set up. Following purchasing the system, you merely place the units into your washing device, incorporate soiled garments, and start washing. Its simpleness is tough to think. And the garments actually do appear clear, despite the insufficient chemical compounds getting used within the washing process.
EASY TO USE. Works in any kind of washing machine! Simply place the MLS units and your clothes in your washing machine and turn it on. For front loaders, put the MLS units in pants pockets. Though they are magnetic, they do not have to stick to the drum to work, and will work in front and top loading machines. Remember, the MLS replaces laundry detergent only. The use of pre wash spot-remover sprays, bleaches or additives such as fabric softeners can be used with the MLS.
A. Yes. Honestly, nothing whitens like chlorine bleach, but there are few chemicals that are more toxic for the environment and health. Bleach is very harsh and damaging to you clothes as well. That said, if you don’t mind the tradeoffs, you can still use diluted bleach with Life Miracle Laundry System® if you choose. A great alternative to chlorine bleach is oxygen bleach (like Oxyclean® and similar products). Borax is also an excellent natural laundry booster. Some laundry system owners add baking soda or white vinegar to their loads.

Every cell in the human body can be viewed as a small magnetic unit. This property is present in all organs. Each cell produce its own magnetic field. Any disturbance in this magnetic field indicates a disorder. This equilibrium can be restored-with the help of magnets according to many researchers.
The company states that its bioceramics increase the pH of water by 0.6 after only 15 minutes of exposure. This is important because it has been well documented that most bacteria thrive between a pH of 6.5 and 7. So by increasing the pH, Crystal Wash hopes soils will more easily wash away and that your laundry will be disinfected.
But the magnets stay “stuck” (magnetized) to the walls, which are metal, so there’s no friction. And they don’t change the molecular structure of water (which would be scary), but the charge. I’m no expert, that’s why I had my sister and her family try it out! And with excellent results! Placebo effect? Could be, but she has a little boy who sure dirties things. Maybe I’ll have her try doing a load minus the magnets to see her thoughts. I’ll post back my her reaction to this experiment if she goes along with it.
I can’t thank you enough for taking care of this business… I was suspicious of this product and wanted to research it. I found this site and told my husband to read along with me….Racked my brain how such nonsense was allowed on a public site…For most of us, to see that saving is possible we tend to lean to get a product that will allow this saving or any method…Trickery at it’s worst…
A seller of various commercial items was touting the magnetic balls for washing clothes. Being skeptical I proceeded to research the internet for serious criticism and found your excellent article that dispelled the hype and left me grateful to you.
Also, using the value of oil continuing to boost dramatically, it in turn leads to the cost of petro based items like laundry detergents, to improve, as well. As opposed to investing funds foolishly over a myth-based solution like laundry detergents, produce a wiser choice to your wallet and your loved ones and purchase a magnetic laundry product. Not only will your garments be as thoroughly clean as ever, you are able to decide to use the cash you save on some thing more worth it.

The key to the product is that you need to use no laundry soap or other toxic detergents to clean your clothes. Most people have no idea about the chemicals in their laundry soap. It is not only those with sensitive skin that should worry about the toxins in their laundry soap.
One purveyor of MFT poppycock makes the absurd claim that their magnetic device “puts a strong, positive charge into the fuel”, and they even offer a set of three magnets for the fuel system, radiator water (!) and air intake (!!) The site makes numerous claims about fuel savings and emissions reduction, quotes many “testimonials” and even some performance data which I consider inadequately documented and find very difficult to take seriously. They claim that their magnets employ “mono-pole technology”, which to me implies the use of monopolar magnets, although no such magnet is known to science; another page on the same vendor’s site describes their fudging on this matter but offers no supporting evidence or references to what they refer to as “magnetic single focus”.
I have no control over the ads on my blog. They’re selected automatically by Google AdSense based on the content of each page. And since I’ve made a total of something like $200 in the four years or so since I put ads on the blog, believe me, nobody’s paying me to run ads in support of the laundry detergent industry.

“Buy Laundry Magnets United Kingdom US laundry magnet reviews”

Normally I wouldn’t even give something as boring as laundry detergent a second thought.  Whatever detergent is cheapest is what I’m going to buy.  But after reading a post from a holistic-minded friend of mine about the chemicals in many of today’s name-brand detergents got me thinking about alternatives.
This article—including an accompanying chart—originally compared wash performance to an industry standard, rather than one test case to another. We have also updated the article to reflect the differences between individual stains instead of overall performance.
One health-quackery newsletter site attributes these claims to one Michael Pedersen, the president of Aquaspace Water Systems, laughably identified as “one of the world’s foremost authorities on water” and a company called AquaSpace. To add to the hype, they have former astronaut Jim Lovell cheapening himself by endorsing their products.
Magnet also affects the bonding angle between the hydrogen and the oxygen atom in the water molecule. Magnetized water causes  hydrogen-oxygen bond angle within the water molecule to be reduced from 104 to 103 degrees. This in turn causes water molecule to cluster together in groups of 6-7 rather than 10-12. The smaller cluster leads to better absorption of water across cell walls.
EASY TO USE. Works in any kind of washing machine! Simply place the MLS units and your clothes in your washing machine and turn it on. For front loaders, put the MLS units in pants pockets. Though they are magnetic, they do not have to stick to the drum to and will work in front and top loading machines. Remember, the MLS replaces laundry detergent only. The use of pre wash spot-remover sprays, bleaches or additives such as fabric softeners can be used with the MLS.
Though I was at first VERY skeptical about the magnet laundry system, I’d have to say I’m now a believer.  While I still have to use stain removers, and occasionally bleach, I never use laundry detergent anymore.  It has saved us money, and our clothes smell as good as ever.
Most magnetic water and fuel treatment systems appear to be marketed through independent distributors who sell out of their homes. An Internet search using the keywords magnetic treatment reveals dozens of independent distributor home pages. Very few such devices are offered by national chain stores or advertised in mail-order catalogs. Possibly, the magnetic-device manufacturers sell through independent distributors to insulate themselves from some of the more exotic claimed benefits of magnetic treatment, or perhaps consumer and wholesaler skepticism has kept magnetic treatment out of mainstream retail. Regardless of the reasons, magnetic water and fuel treatment devices are not usually available at the local hardware or automobile parts supply store. This lack of wide availability has given magnetic water and fuel treatment a sort of fringe-science status in the minds of many consumers. Whether this label is deserved is the subject of this article.
That blog has exactly one article on it: a review of the Magnetic Laundry System. And it’s not actually a “review,” it’s actually a marketing piece trying to convince you to buy the Magnetic Laundry System.
SOLD.
The most important part about a new laundry detergent, in my mind, is its effectiveness. After all, who cares how much money you saved if your gym clothes come out of the wash still smelling funky? According to the company, the MLS “is proven in authoritative independent laboratory testing to clean garments as well as chemical-based laundry detergent.” But how do you really know, unless a stain wasn’t removed from a piece of clothing?

“Purchase Are Laundry Magnets A Scam Reviews laundry magnets”

Instead of simply admitting that “we don’t really understand how MWT works”, most promoters of MWT devices feel compelled to peddle scientifically untenable “explanations”. But some vendors do far worse by propagating absurd nonsense about MWT and its supposed benefits. One wonders if any of clowns who write this garbage have ever actually passed a course in physics or chemistry. Some evidence that they have not can be found in the following statements taken from various manufacturers’ sites.

I have found that the skin irritation from laundry detergent is from the fragrance. I cannot be in the same room as a box of Gain detergent. I use the kind without perfume. I remember when most homes had a bar of Naptha soap for laundry, it worked great.

This alignment changes what is called the “surface tension” of the water, causing it to be extremely reduced.  The “drops” of water become so small and minute, they can easily penetrate into the fabric.

On top of the high level of aluminum, we located a copy of WaterLiberty’s patent application, which specifically outlines that the extract is prepared using sulfuric or hydrochloric acid, both of which (even if diluted) can cause a wide variety of health problems with continued use. In addition, the application states that WaterLiberty should be used in conjunction with a “sterilizing water-purifying chamber and a filtering chamber,” which are 2 different types of filtration devices. This is in direct contrast to the claim on the product’s website that you can simply filter out the “gunk” using a coffee filter.

People are stupid, so they don’t realize that washing clothes in plain water is, by itself, pretty good at getting them clean. People are stupid, so they don’t realize that the “enzymatic stain removers” that the Magnetic Laundry System people tell you to use on stains are, actually, detergents, which means that when you spray those on stains in your laundry, you’re putting detergent in your laundry, not washing it with nothing but magnets. People are stupid, so they don’t understand that “enzymatic stain removers” plus water would clean their clothes just as well as “enzymatic stain removers” plus water plus magnets.

Suffering from back pain, insomnia, kidney stones, or any of about a dozen common ailments? It may be due to “pollution of your body by stray alternating current-induced magnetic fields.” If so, you need a {magnetic mattress} whose built-in permanent magnets provide healing “natural” (“direct current”) fields. Replete with results of “scientific” studies [unpublished, of course!] citing such gems as “62.35 – 98.94%” effectiveness rating (at “99% confidence level”) for relief of back pain. (It’s hard to get a laugh out of a class when I am discussing statistical treatment of data, but this should do the trick!)

We’d also question just how realistic it would be to use WaterLiberty on a regular basis, since it takes several hours to decontaminate a single glass of water. With this in mind, if you were to take a bath with it, it would likely take days or weeks to decontaminate all the water you’d need, and it would be cold when the time came.

My sister and I inadvertently found out about the “most people use too much soap” thing in a round-about way. We noticed that when we go shopping and buy the exact same clothing item, wear it once, wash it, then wear it again-hers is considerably more faded and beat-up looking than mine, which looks new but a little less crisp. This happened w/quite a few clothing items and always hers became completely worn out within a few months, while I was still wearing mine years later. She finally got frustrated and asked me what I was doing differently, we compared our laundry routines and noted: she was using Gain laundry detergent (1 of the most chemical-filled brands), filling the cup to the suggested line and drying on medium or high heat with a scented conventional dryer sheet. I was using all-natural laundry detergent (coconut-derived surfactants, no dyes no chemical fragrances only real lavender oil), pouring about a tablespoon for small loads and 2-3 for large/super loads (I’d say less than 1/3 of each suggested fill line), putting heavy fabrics through an extra rinse cycle and drying on medium or high heat with free & clear dryer sheets. I took her clothes and put them in the washer with just water, no soap-it bubbled considerably and smelled like the laundry soap. After the cycle ended, the colors on the clothes were much brighter. So apparently the colors didn’t run or fade, they were just covered in a soap film which dulled them.

Carbonates formed by heating water containing ≈120 mg(Ca)/l are characterized by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. Tests on 32 pairs of samples establish, at the 99.9% probability level, that drawing water through a static magnetic field (B≈0.1T, ∇B≈10 T/m) increases the aragonite/calcite ratio in the deposit. There is an incubation period of several hours, and memory of magnetic treatment extends beyond 200 h.

Thanks for you article. You have indeed placed a huge importance on debunking the use of tangential logic and logical fallacies but perhaps not enough emphasis on the science. As well, you missed one or two other variables, such as the washing machine itself. There should have been samples from laundry detergent and magnets together with and without a washing machine as well as just magnets and water without a machine, rather a tub and hand washing. Anyway, please read the note I wrote to one promoter..

Numerous sites promote magnet-based technologies for improving crop production, many based on the easily-disproved fiction that magnets can reduce the surface tension of water (see the stuff on magnetic laundry balls above.) One magnet merchant makes similarly extravagant (and to me, unbelievable) claims about how their misleadingly-named “single pole technology” magnets can greatly increase crop yields, cut water use and fertilizer costs. The site provides many “comparison” photographs, “testimonials”, and mentions of “studies” too vaguely identified to allow verification. As expected, there are no references to supporting documents in the reputable agricultural or scientific literature. Statements such as

Among customer reviews found on Amazon.com, WaterLiberty appears to have a primarily negative reputation, with common complaints citing failure to work, concerns over the safety of its ingredients (primarily its very high aluminum content), and that the black mica is extracted using sulfuric or hydrochloric acid (we’ll talk more about this in a moment).

A Laundry Ball Detergent Replacement (U.S. $49.95) information page once noted that it will “last you an unlimited number of washes. Depending on the amount of washes you do weekly, that should be over ten years for the average family.”

A good example is the very well-written but scientifically dubious 1997 article Quinn C. J., Sanderson C. W, Molden, T.C, “Magnetic treatment of water prevents mineral build-up”, published in 8/97 Iron and Steel Engineer

I do wish that bloggers had more control over the advertisements that get published on their site. But, sadly, it usually is out of their hands. If you are against oil companies, but blog about them and accept advertising, you might have ads show up for Shell. That’s just the way it works – very unfortunately.

We are simply harnessing that amazing force and focusing it in your home washing machine to affect the water. At an atomic level, everything is affected by magnetic force. All you need to do it try is for yourself and see the results with your own eyes.

In February 2011 the Spanish National Institute of Consume (Instituto Nacional del Consumo INC) ordered 14 manufacturers to cease their deceiving advertisement after testing the wash balls and concluding that they are as effective, or even less effective, than washing with water alone.[5]
