“Best Magnetic Washing System A Scam California laundry magnets work”

This outfit offers science-naive consumers a “technology” that “treats fluids to enhance their performance.” And not just water! By “re-structuring” liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon fuels, they claim to improve energy efficiency. It even increases the efficiency of refrigerant liquids such as Freon! How does this work? This technology
In the video, they washed only the shirts in the washing machine.  This means that the magnets were free to move around the drum and bang against the shirt, thus helping to get it clean.  You could accomplish the same thing with a couple of rocks.  They didn’t test for that, nor did they compare washing with the magnets to washing with just water.
(2) Fifty bucks a set is more typical, but even that has to be an outrageous markup inasmuch as there’s an outfit in Hong Kong that will sell them to you for $3.60 a pair. (Minor drawback: you have to go to Hong Kong to pick them up.)
I’m a Mom of 4 very messy children. My boys play hard, all 4 of my kids help with all of the animals- Horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks… We all stink by the end of the day. And I work as a Realtor, so I need to be clean and not stink, not to mention it’s just a nice thing to do for everyone right? I was a total skeptic, but I was willing to give this a try. After the first load I was impressed with how clean everything was and I still continue to be impressed! I don’t want a lot of chemicals in or around my home, so this is a perfect alternative. Here are some before and after pictures of a typical pair of jeans worn by my 9 year old. The mud has dried on because I was too exhausted to do laundry when he came in the evening before. I washed them on a quick cycle for 26 minutes on cold with a full load and everything came out clean and fresh. I’m a believer.
Through a chemical process, detergents make surfaces more susceptible to water and increase the pH levels, making it easier for water to detach the dirt from the fabrics. The downside is that most of the chemical ingredients used to achieve this are toxic to your health and the environment.*
If you’ve never heard of a washing ball, or laundry ball before, let’s start with the basics. There are many different types of ball available, but they all have their similarities. Visually, they’re a small, plastic ball, disc, or donut that you throw into your washing machine along with your clothes. Technically, they contain magnets, metal beads, ‘minerals’, and some even contain a small amount of detergent. Depending on the exact type of washing ball, there are different ways in which they are claimed to work:
… but if you think chlorine is bad, consider a substance that had proven deadly to far more people: see the “Ban DHMO” (dihydrogen monoxide) Page! Chlorine, like any gas, is less soluble in hot water than in cold, so it is likely that some chlorine is released in a shower– although as one who often takes long, hot showers, I’ve never noticed it, even in places like Istanbul where the water is almost too highly chlorinated to be potable. However, it is not at all clear how a magnetic device can reduce the emission of chlorine, a gas that is completely unaffected by magnetic fields. One wonders where the chlorine is supposed to go!

The judge ruling against Trade-Net, issued in April 1999, said the manufacturers failed to substantiate their claims and hadn’t informed consumers about reports showing that the claims were incorrect.[19][20]
Consumers buy over $3 billion worth of laundry-detergent products per year. The Magnetic Laundry System has been on the market for eight years, and the manufacturer claims that it makes most of those billions of dollars worth of detergent obsolete. Nevertheless, its sales even today are miniscule. Is that plausible if it really works?
A.  Optical brighteners are not effective they remain on the fabric after washing, whereby they are constantly being breathed in, and touching and absorbing into your skin. Clothes washed in detergents containing these agents will have a potentially health threatening chemical residue left behind on the fabric. Frequently, skin rashes commonly blamed on fragrance and dyes are actually caused by optical brighteners, so optical brighteners should not be used by individuals with sensitive skin.
I have tried a lot of the cloth friendly detergents for my cloth diapers (yes they are mine lol) and always ended up with smell and disappointment.  I keep looking for any option to try to limit the main stream detergents because of all the chemicals in them but have found that they are the only ones that work in Calgary’s hard water
“People who buy these magnets and think that their clothes are being cleaned by them are actually taking advantage of the detergents left behind on the clothes from before they switched to the magnets.
In a several very detailed case histories, Mr. Keister concludes that in every instance, the observed reduction in scaling could be attributed to changes in operating procedures or to other aspects of water chemistry, particularly the presence of phosphates.
I’ve had the magnets for about a month now.  I have done white sheets without the enzymes and the washing water got dirtier and dirtier as it washed, I was amazed.  They came out beautifully white, I was amazed.  I did my friends T shirts and underwear and same thing dirty water and they came out clean but I could smell some sweat, not much but it was there.  I have to point out that he wears his clothes until they’re really bad before washing, so this would explain the problem.  I think that by using the magnets full time the dirty water would be a lot less, I really think it’s soap/detergent that is remaining in the clothes. Someone related to me that his daughter and friends used his hot tub in their bathing suits, the boys suits are a lot of fabric.  The hot tub became a bubble bath from the detergent left in the bathing suits and he had to empty clean and refill the tub, not good.  It does say if you want a nice scent to add a couple of drops of essential oils to the dryer, I put it on a paper towel and that was nice.
Called the “Life Miracle® Magnetic Laundry System,” the idea is that putting magnets in your washing machine will somehow suck dirt particles off the clothes.  Or something like that.  It’s hard to tell, frankly, because most of their sales pitch sounds like this:
Wow! My sister’s been using the magnets for a week now and she’s really impressed. They even got rid of stubborn stains that wouldn’t wash out before. Ok so each order comes with 2 magnets + enzymes for stain removal. I don’t know anything about the enzymes. The magnets “stick” to the washer walls during the cycle and they basically change the charge of the water, making the clothing “lose” the dirty molecules. Apart from the obvious bonus of no longer polluting water with detergents and filling landfills with containers you also no longer need the rinse cycle, so you also save time, water, electricity and money. Another plus is no more chemical residues in our clothing against our skin! I also seem to remember they last a lifetime. They cost about $50, which seems expensive, but I think if you did the math you’d see it would pay off within about a year depending on how often you wash. It’s also compatible with bleaching, if you want to bleach. I’ve ordered some more for me and my Mom.

“Best Magnetic Laundry Bag Arizona laundry magnets scam”

It has been firmly established in the world scientific theatre that the Positive, expanding, field influence of the South Pole makes liquids more soluble (lowering surface tension); thereby hydrating, dissolving, and removing calcite and other mineral/various water by-product build-up in pipes and equipment. The Positive field hydrates all mineral build-up by de-clustering the liquid and solid pre- and post nucleated crystalline scale material. … The random configuration of a water molecules is changed to a charged and organized form with their shape & size also modified. In the process, the associations clustering around the suspended particles are broken up as the molecules line up in polarization. The fluid’s paramagnetic properties allow for more dissolved material to be contained in it due to increased efficiency of the fluid’s available space. It appears that the magnetic treatment allows the carbon dioxide (CO2) to stay dissolved in water of a higher temperature. Calcium carbonate is converted back to calcium bicarbonate. [link]
In fact, because these chemicals have the possibility of triggering health problems and may cause environmental distress, we believe leaving them on the clothing seriously compromises their cleanliness. Most people aren’t even aware that potentially harmful petrochemicals derived from crude oil are constantly on their clothes, possibly causing the wearer skin and respiratory ailments. We define clean as chemical-free, non-harmful to the wearer and non-toxic to the environment, in addition to being optically acceptable. But only you, the user and owner of the product can determine that. We feel there are many people out these just like us that don’t want to walk around with petrochemicals and optical brighteners imbued in their clothes all day long.
Those are precious. My 8-year-old son is BEGGING to help with the laundry (seriously!) but I am struggling with finding a good system. I want him to be able to help, but I don’t want to babysit him to tell him exactly what kind of treatment each load needs. Maybe I need to start putting laundry symbols on the hampers. (And maybe I need to search your archives too!)
Magnetic Laundry System is a highly-recommended product that helps you clean efficiently. This product is incredibly healthy and provides environmental benefits of preventing the environment and clothes from the petrochemical detergents. It will help you keep the laundry room cleaner and safer. It fights against the bacterias. It allows to eliminate the use of toxic laundry detergent at your home and make this world an environmentally friendly place to live. This product comes with an amazing policy:

The magnets make excellent fridge magnets and because of the plastic coating do not mark the fridge surface. They are strong enough to hold even a large calendar onto the fridge door. Just what I had been looking for. We have also started to use them in a new game called magnetic bowls. The game involves rolling the balls along the floor and trying to push your opponent away from a pilot ball. he who is closest wins. Similar to Pétanque but different.
Numerous sites promote magnet-based technologies for improving crop production, many based on the easily-disproved fiction that magnets can reduce the surface tension of water (see the stuff on magnetic laundry balls above.) One magnet merchant makes similarly extravagant (and to me, unbelievable) claims about how their misleadingly-named “single pole technology” magnets can greatly increase crop yields, cut water use and fertilizer costs. The site provides many “comparison” photographs, “testimonials”, and mentions of “studies” too vaguely identified to allow verification. As expected, there are no references to supporting documents in the reputable agricultural or scientific literature. Statements such as
1. Metallic elements (including copper and silver) in the activated ceramics [inside the device] release electrons which in turn produce ionized oxygen. This form of oxygen is a totally natural cleanser which breaks up dirt and organic compounds.
By changing the surface tension of water essentially making it wetter and more slippery this allows for water to get deep into fabrics and remove odors and stains and this is actually how soaps & chemicals work too, they lower the surface tension of water so in the end it is not the detergent doing the cleaning it’s the water.
And check out the magnet balls after about a month of use! All that black stuff is bits that the balls have pulled out of the water and they have built up on the balls! Eww!!  Just to clarify we do not wash metal particles nor does DH work in an industry where he would get metal particles on his clothing…this is just from washing our normal laundry kids and adults and of course diapers.  I was very surprised to see this!
I suspect that the magnet experiments would produce identical results. I should add that the last time I saw a booth at a fair where some scammers were trying to sell these balls, I barged right through, and in a loud voice told them off, citing the CR tests. I am delighted to say that I saw at least 4 potential customers put their wallets away and slink off, aborting a purchase they were just about to make. You can imagine the dirty looks I got from the vendors! 😁
“Water is Paramagnetic …meaning that it holds a magnetic charge” is just one of many lies and misrepresentations to be found on sites that flog an elastic band containing several magnets that you are supposed to slip over a container of water, wine, milk, or juice in order to increase the “bioavailability” of the water– very similar to the equally nonsensical claims by the clusterquackpot merchants. To support these claims, they mis-cite a number of Nobel Prize winners and offer various references to the scientific literature which are incomplete or, in one case, do not appear to exist. To add to the hype, one can see pictures that purport to show how the “magnetized filtered water” increases the growth rate of plant, especially if the south magnetic poles face the water(!).
But we believe in fairness around here. So I’ll say this. We tested a set of laundry thingies (laundry disks rather than laundry balls, actually, but what’s the diff?) with unexpected results. But more about that in a sec.
Well, there certainly are negative comments, but it must have something to do with their shipping department or something, because I received the magnets with a short wait, and they work wonderfully. …Havent tried the nano towels yet, but the magnets do work, and if you had a bit of chemistry/physics in school, you might understand why it works. Either way, I am very happy with the results. See More
Suffering from back pain, insomnia, kidney stones, or any of about a dozen common ailments? It may be due to “pollution of your body by stray alternating current-induced magnetic fields.” If so, you need a {magnetic mattress} whose built-in permanent magnets provide healing “natural” (“direct current”) fields. Replete with results of “scientific” studies [unpublished, of course!] citing such gems as “62.35 – 98.94%” effectiveness rating (at “99% confidence level”) for relief of back pain. (It’s hard to get a laugh out of a class when I am discussing statistical treatment of data, but this should do the trick!)
Magnets are fascinating. Imagine the amazement of the ancient Greeks who discovered that some naturally occurring stones, later named magnetite because they were found in a region of Greece called Magnesia, attracted iron.
But the demand for alternative/DIY detergent hacks is very much real, and we’re always on the lookout for innovative laundry products. With that in mind, we procured a couple Crystal Wash laundry balls to see if they actually work as advertised.
Actually, Magnetic Laundry System will work perfectly to all the users and you can the easy way to wipe out the dirt without using a drop of toxic laundry detergent and simply use this amazing magnetic patented technology to experience the best result in short few days.
If you are sensitive to chemicals on your clothes, I would be cautious about the dryer balls. They are definitely releasing chemicals in the high heat of a dryer. I use to be an analytical chemist so I know.
EASY TO USE. Works in any kind of washing machine! Simply place the MLS units and your clothes in your washing machine and turn it on. For front loaders, put the MLS units in pants pockets. Though they are magnetic, they do not have to stick to the drum to work, and will work in front and top loading machines. Remember, the MLS replaces laundry detergent only. The use of pre wash spot-remover sprays, bleaches or additives such as fabric softeners can be used with the MLS.
The magnetic laundry system totally trashed my front loading washing machine. The electrics went nuts after only three washes, stuck on 1 minute spin cycle, when stopped by main switch I opened the door to find smoke coming from the machine. It was a 30 degree wash by the way.
The truth is, most of the claims made by washing ball manufacturers are completely fake. Can these mineral beads change the pH level of water? No. Can they break down water molecules? No. If you look at any website for a laundry ball company, you’ll see that, in general, you need to use very hot water with your washing ball (which is where the cleaning power comes from), and that washing balls are not designed to tackle stains or smells. If they don’t tackle stains or smells, what do they do? They wet clothes. No more, no less. Well, that’s not entirely true. They can also ruin clothes, let’s not forget about that. The Better Business Bureau and the US Federal Trade Commission released a joint statement back in 1999 stating that ‘at best, they’re marginally better than washing clothes in hot water alone, and not as effective as washing them with laundry detergent.
The basic idea behind how laundry detergent and the magnet laundry system works is the same.  They both reduce the surface tension of the water in the washing machine allowing it to more effectively agitate against the fibers of the clothes.  This agitation breaks up the dirt, grime, or whatever and leaves clothes cleaner.

Unfortunately most of the other solutions I came across required me to mix my own homemade solution of things like borax (not the Dr Seuss character.  That’s a Lorax), washing soda, and some sort of soap.  All well and good but I am terrible about remembering to buy laundry detergent on it’s own, the last thing I need is a LIST of things to buy that I then have to mix at home.
For some users, MWT seems to be effective in controlling scale deposition; there are too many favorable anecdotal reports to dismiss it entirely. Looking at the carefully done studies on actual installations, the results are mixed. This suggests that the conditions under which MWT is effective are dependent on factors that are not well understood. Scientific studies on model systems suggest that magnetic fields can have subtle effects on water[⇒] and can affect carbonate precipitation[⇒], even though H2O molecules are not paramagnetic. Some studies have shown that the presence of certain substances in the water can affect scale precipitation; these include iron ions, phosphates, silica[⇒], and oxygen.
I tend to use about half the amount of detergent prescribed on the detergent bottle – Mom recommended this practice; and although I use vinegar as a fabric softener, my skin is very sensitive to soap residue; and I’m aware of how many companies fudge the numbers to boost sales. Having used those laundry magnets and ended up with a clean load of laundry, I now know that I could probably skip the detergent altogether at least every other load.

Every cell in the human body can be viewed as a small magnetic unit. This property is present in all organs. Each cell produce its own magnetic field. Any disturbance in this magnetic field indicates a disorder. This equilibrium can be restored-with the help of magnets according to many researchers.

In remodeling my bathroom, I needed anew clothes hamper. My colors are blue/brown so the color initially caught my eye. It came quickly and it took about 5 minutes to unfold it. Would not have taken that long except the bottoms of the inside bags that actually hold the clothes( washable) had zippers that wee a bit of a struggle to zip up. May have just been my hands because I have, rheumatoid arthritis, but I got it done. I will add that the hamper is larger than I thought. I’m sure the measurements were given, but I don’t do numbers. Lol! I love that the lid just sits on the top and is held on in the back by Velcro and folds over the front and held with a magnetic strip. So when emptying the dirty clothes, I can just remove the lid and then replace it. Easily a 5*

He has also exposed “strange fibers” found in Chicken McNuggets, fake academic credentials of so-called health “gurus,” dangerous “detox” products imported as battery acid and sold for oral consumption, fake acai berry scams, the California raw milk raids, the vaccine research fraud revealed by industry whistleblowers and many other topics.
On top of the high level of aluminum, we located a copy of WaterLiberty’s patent application, which specifically outlines that the extract is prepared using sulfuric or hydrochloric acid, both of which (even if diluted) can cause a wide variety of health problems with continued use. In addition, the application states that WaterLiberty should be used in conjunction with a “sterilizing water-purifying chamber and a filtering chamber,” which are 2 different types of filtration devices. This is in direct contrast to the claim on the product’s website that you can simply filter out the “gunk” using a coffee filter.
Everything written on Life Web site, and everything Judy has written on behalf of Life Miracle in email to me and in the comment above, would be the same regardless of which of these scenarios is true.
Given that ground-level ozone is an irritant that can worsen asthma and compromise the body’s ability to fight respiratory infections, we checked the ambient air in our test lab while the devices were in use and measured ozone levels well below the maximum limit set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“Hoax! This is yet another attempt at extracting cash from people with false claims. Magnets DO NOT change the molecular structure of water. Simple as that. You may get some mechanical cleaning from the balls rubbing against the clothes, and it’s true that water is a good solvent, but there’s no way it will work as good as detergent. If you want to experience this laundry miracle, try throwing a few smooth rocks in with your laundry. Your clothes will no doubt get a bit cleaner, but I’d recommend some detergent to go with it.”
This promoters of this crackpot scheme appear to be somewhat confused about the meaning of “dissociation” in this context. Independent test results by U. Minnesota Water Resources Center and Consumer Reports (Feb 1995) do not support the performance claims of he manufacturer.
I just got an email about using magnets instead of detergents and bleach to clean your clothes in the washing machine. Has anyone actually tried this? We have kids and dogs, so our stuff gets really dirty. I bleach everything I can. Would using magnets destroy all the bacteria? Does it work…
A: Yes. Honestly, nothing whitens like chlorine bleach, but there are potentially toxicity issues for the environment and health. Bleach is very harsh and damaging to your clothes as well. That said, if you don’t mind the trade-offs, you can still use diluted bleach with Magnetic Laundry System if you choose. A great alternative to chlorine bleach is oxygen bleach (like Oxiclean® and similar products) or diluted hydrogen peroxide. Borax is also an excellent natural laundry booster. Some Magnetic Laundry System owners add baking soda or white vinegar to their loads. The 3% hydrogen peroxide plus vinegar solution detailed above may be the most effective alternative method for this process.
The pitch for these laundry balls gets more baroque over time, but basically the theory is that by using magnets, the balls rip apart clusters of water molecules that form naturally by magnetic attraction. When these clusters are ripped apart, creating “activated” or “structured” water, it makes it easier for individual water molecules to get at the junk you’re trying to remove from your dirties. All without expensive, damaging, and unhealthy chemical detergents.
In the following examples, only a small selection of the nonsense found on MWT sites, claims that I consider false, misleading, or meaningless are denoted by “purple prose”. Because many of these fringe-science companies come and go rather frequently, it’s difficult to keep the links up-to-date. But the nonsensical claims they make seem to live on and are likely to turn up again. Links shown in {braces} are archived versions of the thankfully-now-departed.
Update: My credit card company just credited me the cost of the laundry magnets including shipping which I was told not to expect. They needed proof of my mailing the laundry magnets back, so without an address to send them back to (Detergent Truth refused to give me an address or an RA# because it was past 60 days, but a scam is a scam). So I sent them to the address on the warranty card. Thanks Jonathon for the info on this site. I cited it when I described the scam to my credit card company. Too bad this company refuses to return calls or emails.
I’ve read the science that says it can’t work but this works for me it’s that simple. 9 months now I estimate over 200 washes and I won’t be buying any detergent again. Scientists have been wrong before …
Because the Magnetic Laundry System magnets are such a powerful cleaning technology, they will remove detergent scum from everywhere in the washer and your clothes might become blotched with the scum that is coming from the tub.  If this occurs, try washing them a few more times with the Magnetic Laundry System to see if they become clean again.  Just keep using the System and you won’t have to repeat the tub cleaning procedure ever again.
Water is indeed polar but this has nothing at all to do with magnetism. The polarity is due to the higher nuclear charge of oxygen, which displaces the shared bonding electrons towards the oxygen. This leaves the oxygen with a partial negative charge and the hydrogen with a partial positive charge. Water has no paramagnetic properties.

“Get Magnetic Laundry Review California laundry magnets”

Thanks for being proactive enough to post this article on web…. your saved a lot od money and embarrasment on my part…. I met a guy in delhi who as he claims with the help of a website http://www.skyquestcom.com/wealth has figured a money laundering method and the product is magnetic laundry system…. thank you so much
I work in the restaurant business, I like them to try them on our clothing before I buy them. Getting out grease, blood, and different sauces is a pain. I really haven’t found anything that works 100%
Advertising for these products often attacks commercial detergents accusing them of containing cancer causing chemicals and hormone disruptors. The claim is that the magnetic disks reduce health risks by eliminating exposure to these substances while also saving money since there is no need to purchase detergents. Furthermore, use of the disks prevents the release of toxic substances into the environment. That all sounds very “green.” References are given to a patent for the laundry disks, as well as to a study supposedly demonstrating their cleaning efficacy.
[link]
According to the brand, a package of two units of the laundry system can be used for many years and aside from saving you the hassle of having to buy detergent, it can save you a great deal of money as well. The system also does not use any chemicals or harmful compounds to provide you with results. As the brand explains, with this product, you no longer need to rely upon harmful formulas that contain common ingredients such as pesticides, imitation estrogen, and other toxins. Research shows that these toxins not only lead to harm over the long term, but they are not good for your clothes either.
“Resonant frequency energy waves are then induced into the flowing irrigation water with the result that the energy waves travel unimpeded through the irrigation system and through the sprinkler or drip system to then move freely and efficiently through soil with each drop of treated water.” [link]

Whoever wrote this probably never passed First Year Chemistry (not to mention English!) Although the positive and negative charges are geometrically unbalanced, they are exactly equal, and cancel out to zero. The H2O molecule is electrically neutral.
Everything you need to do is stick to a couple of the magnets in your washer….and you don’t have to worry about whatever your detergent is doing to the drain field, or also adding one more big jug to the recycling bin each week. It is the safe and all the natural cleaner, also replaces the chemical liquid and the powder HE detergent and the soap. This product will help with the allergies and also chemical sensitivities to the detergents. It will work under the unique means of the water maintenance through the direct application of the magnetic force. This product is the chemical free and clear. This product will work in all the kinds of the washing machines. This unit might end up in sticking together in the washing process. This product is absolutely normal and does not eradicate the effectiveness because it will emit the equal amount level of the magnetic force whether you are attracted to together or not. In this product, the laundry units only require being submerged or in the close proximity to the water for highly-effective.
The magnetic laundry system totally trashed my front loading washing machine. The electrics went nuts after only three washes, stuck on 1 minute spin cycle, when stopped by main switch I opened the door to find smoke coming from the machine. It was a 30 degree wash by the way.
Also, do you use any of the stain pre-treaters that the manufacturer recommends for tough stains? Has it occurred to you that those treatments are in fact concentrated detergent, and that it’s not the magnets that are getting your clothes clean, but rather the detergent?
Laundry balls/disks allegedly eliminate or greatly reduce the need for conventional laundry detergents. You get different stories on how they’re supposed to work, including a lot of hokum about “structured water” and “nanotricity” and whatnot, none of which makes much sense. The most coherent account comes from a catalog firm called Real Goods:
The only problem is that water sticks together. When you think of water you think of two hydrogen and one oxygen molecule, but actually water is more like 20 hydrogen and 10 oxygen. Back in the 1970’s, superstructures of water were both theorized and discovered.  The same polar nature that makes water a good solvent, causes water to stick to itself and form large superstructures. The problem is magnified in hard water where water amalgamations give water unique properties like tremendous service tension (watch a bug walk across the surface of water) and great resistance to evaporation.  These superstructures are too large and too preoccupied to be valuable cleaning agents, so the way to change the actual physical characteristics of water is to pass it by focused magnetic fields. Since opposites attract, and water acts magnetically; passing water through a series of magnetic fields pulls it first one way and then the other. The forces tugging on the individual water molecules will break up the superstructures and create smaller individual water molecules. Some people call this process restructuring. These small, polar water molecules can then slip easily into fabrics, carpets, etc. dissolving and removing dirt and stains without chemicals.
The company does offer some performance data and a long list of “case studies”, but given the scientifically questionable “technology” they use, one would want to see some references to published articles in the reputable agricultural/soil science literature.
I have continued to use the MLS, so as of this writing, it’s been about two whole months. Which in our home is many, many loads of laundry.  Any clothing items with persistent stink have not gotten stinkier, but may have some remaining stink, which I keep under control by using the MLS along with the Atsko detergent I review here.  Or if something does seem to get stinky, I run it with And, of course, if the item can tolerate hot water that will go a long way.
However, I’m sorry to say that there is another possible explanation. If everyone who complains about your product gets all their money back, then who’s going to be the lead plaintiff in the class-action lawsuit alleging that you defrauded your customers by selling them a product that doesn’t actually do anything?
The 1902 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded jointly to Lorentz (who was Dutch) and Zeeman for the discovery of the effects of magnetic fields on atomic emission spectra. (If Lorentz studied water, it was probably its magnetic susceptibility, which has nothing to do with magnetic water treatment.)
Claims that commercial devices bring about significant reductions in water surface tension or lead to the various benefits that might accrue from this effect should not be taken seriously in the absence of credible performance data.
Among those who report some type of direct magnetic-water-treatment effect, a consensus seems to be emerging that the effect results from the interaction of the applied magnetic field with surface charges of suspended particles (Donaldson 1988; Lipus et al. 1994). Krylov et al. (1985) found that the electrical charges on calcium carbonate particles are significantly affected by the application of a magnetic field. Further, the magnitude of the change in particle charge increased as the strength of the applied magnetic field increased.
Magnetic fuel treatment devices installed in automobiles are similar in design to magnetic water treatment devices. Hydrocarbon fuel is pumped through a canister containing one or more magnets or a magnetic device is clamped to the external surface of the fuel line. Magnetic treatment of fuel, it is claimed, results in increased horsepower, increased mileage, reduced hazardous gas emissions, and longer engine life.
The basic idea behind how laundry detergent and the magnet laundry system works is the same.  They both reduce the surface tension of the water in the washing machine allowing it to more effectively agitate against the fibers of the clothes.  This agitation breaks up the dirt, grime, or whatever and leaves your clothes cleaner.
The “risk free trial” offered by the site promises that “You’ll have 21 days from today to use the Magnetic Laundry System and experience the results for yourself.”  The company charged my credit card $5.95 for shipping and handling on December 1; they shipped the product to me on December 23; it arrived on December 26; and the company charged my credit card $49.95 on December 27.  Yes, that’s right, my “21 day free trial” involved having the product in my possession for less than one day.
Don’t have to read all comments, have one of my own. Yes, water alone does get clothes clean, and all the suds and all the commercial detergents do pollute the earth, cause problems with our machines etc by clogging and wearing them out sooner, and we help line the pockets of those who manufacture and push on people who are not learned about life in many ways. Big mouth Nancy is at it again. I make my own cleaning products, and it does help the earth not pollute…why does Amazon keep helping scam artists? I am getting a letter off to them and will be posting my feelings about some of their products they have for sale on their site. I use A. for a lot , but we humans do not need to line to pockets of some of these scam artists…Starting here, I doubt till I prove. Just Sayin’….
Right, because no one could possibly be motivated to spend the time debunking crackpot science out of a desire to elevate the general level of scientific education in the world and help prevent people from wasting their money on products that don’t work.

“Buy Reviews Of Life Miracle Magnetic Laundry System Near Me laundry magnets scam”

What’s even worse, we are willingly to pay a small fortune to chemical companies who exposes us to these toxins. Let Laundry Magnets Reviews site introduce you to a revolutionary way to do laundry that allows you to completely eliminate your need for laundry detergent ever again.
There’s not really much to the “system”.  It basically boils down to two powerful magnets that are wrapped in protective plastic. They look like a couple of blue hockey pucks.  The instructions couldn’t be any simpler.
Overall, if you are looking for an amazing new laundry system that works as an alternative to detergent, then Magnetic Laundry System by Water Liberty may be the right product for you. To order, visit the brand’s website today.
The difference is that detergents do it with harsh chemicals that are not good for your body or the environment.  The MLS system does it by working with the natural magnetic properties of water molecules.
It’s a must have item for every home, but especially those with chemical sensitivities. So glad I finally had enough saved in my Amazon account to purchase it, and try it out. 🙂 I can’t recommend it highly enough, truly.
Washes your Clothes for Free without any chemicals. This patented-technology called the “Magnetic Laundry System” is made to replace the use of detergent. It will save you money, your health and the environment. Find more information at www.MyPowerfulMagnets.com
A. Generally speaking, hot water is always the best temperature for the cleanest clothes whether you are using the Laundry System or detergent. Think about when you are washing dishes in the sink. The cold water will clean stuck on food, but the hot water will remove the food more quickly and efficiently with less water usage. It is the same in your washing machine. However, different garments and materials may require that you use lower temperatures, and you may continue to do so. We have had many customers report excellent results using just cold water with the Laundry System. For the reason outlined above, we still like to recommend hot water to users–but you ultimately have the freedom to test using the product in a variety of ways, and choose whatever option works best for your personal situation.”
There is apparently no consensus among magnet vendors regarding the mechanisms by which magnetic water treatment occurs. A variety of explanations are offered, most of which involve plenty of jargon but little substance. Few vendors, if any, offer reasonable technical explanations of how magnetic water treatment is supposed to work.
As water moves through the induced magnetic field, the static charge on the water molecules is changed from negative to positive due to current being generated by the moving water (Faraday’s Law). The current produced by the flow also causes some water molecules to ionize (dissociate), forming hydronium ions (H+) and hydroxyl ions (OH-). Oxidation (corrosion) is prevented by the physical fact that the negative oxygen is repelled by the ground negative (cathodically protected) pipe. Negative scale ions are also repelled. (Basic law of Physics: similarities repel) If walls of negative pipe are contaminated with hard deposits (scale), positive hydronium ions work to convert hard deposits (scale) into soft deposits (aragonite), which are eventually removed and precipitate out into the tower basin. You guys need to do something about your communications process. Very poor. If I have to wait six weeks like one post said, let me know. I’ve only waited 10 days with no word-inexcuseable. I really want to try the magnets, but you are not making it easy. Not really a way to run a business.
If you want clothes that are clean, stain-free, and smell like a summer breeze, throw out the washing ball and stick with a detergent that has a good track record, like Surf excel Matic. This really is the only way to ensure your clothes are truly clean.
One of the claims made for residential magnetic treatment devices is that less soap and detergent will be required for washing. Compared to the claim to suppress scale formation, this claim has received little direct attention in the literature. To decrease soap and detergent consumption, the concentration of dissolved hardness minerals must be decreased. The tests by Gehr et al. (1995), described earlier, demonstrated a decrease dissolved mineral concentration of about 10 percent. If this fractional decrease in dissolved mineral concentration is representative of that obtained by magnetic treatment, then it is unlikely that soap and detergent use will be significantly reduced. For example, given a water supply with 100 ppm dissolved hardness, magnetic treatment would only be expected to reduce the hardness to 90 ppm, assuming the results of Gehr et al. can be applied at this hardness concentration.
I’m very pleased with the Magnetic Laundry System; thanks for offering it. I could see how dirty the water was in the washer, so it’s obviously doing a terrific job of cleaning.  Also the clothes have no smell when removed, compared to before. thanks again!
Recently, while browsing for eCards to send on care2.com, I was presented with an ad for nomoredetergent.com, a Web site which claims to sell a “Breakthrough Invention Which Washes Your Clothes For Free Without Toxic Chemicals, Saves Your Family’s Skin Health, and Your Money!”
If you really wanted to “confirm the information posted above,” you could have asked me, and I could have provided you with copies of the on-line receipt for my order from Powerful Life, my credit-card statements showing when they charged me for shipping the product and for the product itself, the shipping label showing when they actually shipped it, and the USPS delivery confirmation record showing when it arrived at my house.
A seller of various commercial items was touting the magnetic balls for washing clothes. Being skeptical I proceeded to research the internet for serious criticism and found your excellent article that dispelled the hype and left me grateful to you.
PATENTED AND INDEPENDENTLY PROVEN!…There Is No Other Non-Detergent Laundry Technology In Existence That Has Two United States Patents (and Additional Patents Pending) and Is Proven In Independent Laboratory Testing. You Have Never Seen, Heard About Or Tried Anything Like It Before!
The next test is what actually won me over completely.  We live with a beautiful but aging black cat.  She is sweet, but also temperamental.  Every once in a while my husband will do something to really tick her off.
Manufacturers rarely agree on why their laundry balls work, hinting that these claims are just made up by each individual manufacturer.[3][11] Some claims are not backed by science, while others are an exaggeration of benefits.[2] Balls that contain detergents may offer more cleaning power than water alone because their ingredients are comparable to normal washing powder, but in smaller quantities. It is claimed that conventional washing powder manufacturers recommend using more powder than is necessary, and that these powders contain unnecessary fillers or fragrances.[4]
Most scientists who have looked into MWT remain very skeptical, as they tend of be of any field for which there is no obvious theoretical model and in which quantitative and reproducible results are hard to come by. (A very similar situation arises in studies of whether power transmission lines contribute to leukemia.) Scientists who might otherwise be qualified to investigate MWT also tend to be put off by the stigma the field has acquired due to the exaggerated claims made by some of its adherents and the widespread promotion of various worthless applications involving magnets.

Gehr et al. (1995) found that magnetic treatment affects the quantity of suspended and dissolved calcium sulfate. A very strong magnetic field (47,500 gauss) generated by a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer was used to test identical calcium sulfate suspensions with very high hardness (1,700 ppm on a CaCO3 basis). Two minutes of magnetic treatment decreased the dissolved calcium concentration by about 10 percent. The magnetic field also decreased the average particle charge by about 23 percent. These results, along with those of many others (e.g., Parsons et al. 1997; Higashitani and Oshitani 1997), imply that application of a magnetic field can affect the dissolution and crystallization of at least some compounds.
Yep. I bought the products. Washed a few loads with them. All the stains remain, of course, because the “enzymatic cleaner” is the real hook and, with it, I’m guessing most who report being “satisfied” with their results also purchased the cleaner. What disappoints me most is the smell of my clothing; hard water, antique pipes, and I get clothes that smell like iron and whatever else is lurking in the pipes. But, in addition, dirt remains – the kind under the cuffs of sleeves and on the edges of garments that have brushed up against the car covered with sooty snow….
Bruce Toback checked the claims for “The Laundry Solution” and found that “[t]he claims make perfect sense, and are in complete accord with the current state of scientific knowledge… There is not a single false claim in their marketing material. In fact, it’s a model of probity compared to the verbiage printed on a box of laundry detergent:
I just got a full refund on these crap magnets. I’m not getting a refund on the clothes that have baked in stains in them, now. Second, my Samsung steam washing machine now errors out during the wash cycle and have to restart the cycle. Did the magnets ruin the programming on my washing machine? Those fuckers. Where’s the class action law suit? I want to sign up.
Can MWT control scale deposition? Does it really soften the water? One might think that the question of whether magnetic water treatment is effective would by now have long been settled by scientific and engineering studies, but this is unfortunately not the case.
D.L. Watt et al, Journal of Clinical Periodontology 20(5) 314-317 May 1993. This double-blind study showed a significant reduction in calculus volume when irrigator devices had magnets installed. The authors suggest some possible mechanisms relating to reduced calcium and phosphate ion activity, but these don’t seem very convincing. A summary of this article can be seen at this commercial site. Needless to say, many enterprises see no need to wait for verification of these results, and are breathlessly marketing magnetic oral irrigators to the public.
You usually don’t need to use as much detergent as the company recommends. I start with the minimum recommended by the company, it usually works just fine for all my clothes. We own boats and my husband comes home with really gross dirty clothes and I will add a little extra then. Same goes with dish detergent. When I cured myself of filling both detergent cups in my dishwasher, my dishes were still clean, I just didn’t go through as much detergent
Or if something does seem to get stinky, I run it with Atsko.  And, of course, if the item can tolerate hot water that will go a long way.
Magnetic fuel treatment devices are constructed similarly. One or more magnets are clamped around or installed inside an automobile’s engine fuel line between the gas tank and the carburetor (or fuel injectors). Claims for these devices include decreased hazardous gas emissions, more complete combustion, improved engine power, longer-lasting engine components, and a 10 percent to 20 percent increase in gas mileage. Prices for automotive fuel treatment magnets range from about $50 to $300.

If that’s not, in fact, what is shown by the unreleased results, then I encourage Life Miracle to publish these results and let everyone see the independent laboratory confirmation that magnets clean clothes better than water alone.
Others have mentioned that these magnets do nothing to neutralize bacteria or germs.  Again, this is not something that detergents do either.  Hot water, or bleach when necessary will take care of most of the germs.  You can also use a more natural solution that I cover below in the FAQ.

For most other stains, soaking overnight in the following solution works well – start with the warmest water safe for the garment, add both OxyClean (or generic equivalent) along with a good degreasing dish soap. I’m partial to Dawn concentrated, the concentrated version of the original blue stuff. Adding dish soap seems to me to help on tough stains, even when grease or oil is not involved.

Several manufacturers offer juice-producing machines that incorporate magnets, which they variously claim, without any supporting evidence, to mellow the taste [link], to enhance the stability of the juice [link], or generally to maintain the freshness of fruit and vega table juices. A typical false claim is that the magnets
Rather, the questions at hand are (a) do wimpy magnets like the ones you sell “influence water” in any significant way, and (b) does whatever “influence” they have on the water actually have any impact on the water’s ability to clean clothes?
Thanks for you article. You have indeed placed a huge importance on debunking the use of tangential logic and logical fallacies but perhaps not enough emphasis on the science. As well, you missed one or two other variables, such as the washing machine itself. There should have been samples from laundry detergent and magnets together with and without a washing machine as well as just magnets and water without a machine, rather a tub and hand washing. Anyway, please read the note I wrote to one promoter..
In the 1950’s, It was found that chemicals could change the molecular structure of water with the world’s first laundry detergent. It was understood that you needed to reduce the surface tension of the water to help it to clean better. The concept behind this Laundry System is that you can achieve similar results with our unique magnetic technology using no chemicals whatsoever. On an atomic level, everything is affected by magnetics. The Magnetic Laundry System cleans garments by utilizing these principles rather than harsh and expensive laundry detergent chemicals.
The Water Liberty / Adya Clarity “clinical trial” was conducted by Fenestra Research Labs. Fenestra Research is a dubious organization with no apparent research accreditation whatsoever and which was forced to admit in years past that its research was falsified. As mentioned in the Museum of Hoaxes:
In contrast to the testimonials common to NCD [non-chemical devices] marketing literature, the many controlled studies undertaken by various government and industrial organizations have resulted in a consensus opinion that NCD are not capable of producing the effects claimed in the literature. In general, the theories advanced by the NCD suppliers to explain operation of their devices show a lack of agreement with accepted scientific principles. In spite of an extensive history of installation failures, findings of no effect in controlled studies, and no acceptable theory of operation; new NCD are accepted in the market on a routine basis, often obtaining significant sales before the inevitable disasters result in that particular device being discredited.
WaterLiberty, also sold as Adya Clarity, black mica extract, and mica water, has received some fairly harsh criticism from NaturalNews.com, who claims that the product, “has been imported into the country as “batter acid,” that is mined near Fukushima, Japan, that it “consists of metals (iron, aluminum, etc.) dissolved with sulfuric acid into a liquid form,” and that “It has been heavily marketed as a dietary supplement for internal consumption, along with completely unsubstantiated health claims.” In fact, the article even goes on to claim that “People who drink the product report symptoms such as black stuff coming out of their ears, and fingernails turning black.” However, we didn’t locate any third-party website that corroborated this condition.
In tests run at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, pairing the two ingredients killed virtually all Salmonella, Shigella, or E. coli bacteria on heavily contaminated surfaces. This formulation is more effective at killing these potentially deadly bacteria than any name brand cleaner, or even chlorine bleach.
I’m extremely skeptical of the idea of magnetic water softeners (strong magnets attached to pipes), but desperately wish it were true because I hate lugging 40# bags of salt out to my well house in the hot Texas sun.

placing corn seeds in the “center of the paramagnetic center of Stonehenge” resulted in 20-40% larger plants, suggesting that “restoring magnetism is the key to increased life force in all organic matter”. [link]
When this happens, the water is considered “activated”.  Along with this process, the minerals and salts suspended in the water become activated into an “ionic”  form, (charged particles), aiding in the cleaning process.
“”At this time Crystal Wash 2.0 is the effective Crystal Wash balls along with our informative and helpful new App. It is not a ‘connected’ device at this time, but the App gives you almost all of the features we were hoping to achieve like: Recharge Alerts, Wash Completed Alerts, Wash Cycle Tracking Stats, Graphs, Counters, Savings Trackers, Stain guide, and Label Decoder.
I was dubious, as you probably are as well.  But Care2 is a pretty reputable site, and the upside of never needing to pay for or use laundry detergent again is pretty high.  Furthermore, I figured that if it was a scam, then I’d have fun performing an experiment to prove it.  So I went ahead and ordered a set of the magnets.
In 2009 the Spanish consumer organization OCU made a study of “ecobolas” (a type of laundry ball marketed in Spain). It compared the efficacy of the laundry ball, normal detergent, and no detergent at all. It concluded that laundry balls were no better than using just water, and it recommended that consumers simply use a minimum amount of detergent.[6]
Finally, the product is very easy to use. All you need to do is to stick it to the mental surroundings of your washing machine bin. In doing so, the product will clear out the stains, grime, dirt, and more as you put the machine into cycle.

I’ve tried them in both top and front load washers.  If you’re using a front load unit make sure to put them in some pants pockets or a pair of socks (one magnet in each).  This will keep you from going crazy when they bump against the door during the wash.
These strips are mechanically coated with common household substances like cocoa and red wine, and the three tests were performed with the Kenmore 25132, a top loader very similar to what’s found in a lot of U.S. homes. We set the Kenmore to its highest temperature setting and used the Normal cycle.
I made a bogus-bingo a few years back. Added words like “atomic level”, “Universal cure”, “basic nature of” and several other dreadful attempts at mimicking a scientific jargon. I’m fairly sure I’d be shouting “BINGO” after about half a page of this. I’m almost surprised they didn’t add “quantum level” anywhere in the text 😉

Another option is to pre-soak your clothes or to use a stain removal pre-treatment.  I’ve tried all three.  For really tough stains I typically fall back to a spot treatment before washing.  But I’ve gotten butter, oil, grease, and dirt out using just the magnets.  Pretty impressive.
My sister and I inadvertently found out about the “most people use too much soap” thing in a round-about way. We noticed that when we go shopping and buy the exact same clothing item, wear it once, wash it, then wear it again-hers is considerably more faded and beat-up looking than mine, which looks new but a little less crisp. This happened w/quite a few clothing items and always hers became completely worn out within a few months, while I was still wearing mine years later. She finally got frustrated and asked me what I was doing differently, we compared our laundry routines and noted: she was using Gain laundry detergent (1 of the most chemical-filled brands), filling the cup to the suggested line and drying on medium or high heat with a scented conventional dryer sheet. I was using all-natural laundry detergent (coconut-derived surfactants, no dyes no chemical fragrances only real lavender oil), pouring about a tablespoon for small loads and 2-3 for large/super loads (I’d say less than 1/3 of each suggested fill line), putting heavy fabrics through an extra rinse cycle and drying on medium or high heat with free & clear dryer sheets. I took her clothes and put them in the washer with just water, no soap-it bubbled considerably and smelled like the laundry soap. After the cycle ended, the colors on the clothes were much brighter. So apparently the colors didn’t run or fade, they were just covered in a soap film which dulled them.
The key to the product is that you need to use no laundry soap or other toxic detergents to clean your clothes. Most people have no idea about the chemicals in their laundry soap. It is not only those with sensitive skin that should worry about the toxins in their laundry soap.

“Best Magnetic Deception Of The Laundry System laundry magnets how they work”

Do without laundry soap just occasionally, with a load of lightly soiled items like sheets, for example. Skipping soap now and then stretches the life of your detergent. It’s also kind to your washer, which benefits from the break.
This product removes any noise which may be created by the force of the horizontal axis. You don’t have to stick to the machine to supervise if it works properly. It works well with all the variety of washing machines. The laundry units may end up sticking together in the washing process, hence the units should be submerged or put in the water for maximum effectiveness.

Results: Former Money Talks News writer Jim Robinson made his own laundry soap. “I, like many before me who’ve traveled this road, couldn’t tell the difference between store-bought and homemade,” he wrote. The product testers at TheSweetHome, on the other hand, found that DIY detergents don’t work as well — probably because they’re missing the “enzymes, surfactants (which work better at cleaning than soap), or polymers, which keep dirt from re-depositing on your clothes and making them turn grey over time.”
Best Answer:  I understand why you’d want to check this out, I have kids and a dog and a husband in construction, so I know about dirty laundry too. This so looks like one of those scams. Really, how could magnets take out all the soil and stains in your laundry. If that would work, you could do it yourself by hand with any magnet you had at home! It’s very easy to make up things on the internet and make up phony quotes that sound good. Here’s a link by a chemist who researches phony science and scientific claims:
These seem to work well, and I was impressed BUT after two weeks of using them the plastic covers began to split, our machine has a metal drum with a plastic agitator, I see no reason for them to start splitting, so I have returned them…….
it verifies unequivocally that the magnetic laundry system does indeed clean garments and do not damage colors or the tensile strength of your fabrics. Our clothes have never been cleaner than the last few years when I figured out how to do laundry without detergent and softener
Water is diamagnetic, and magnets have no effect on However the thermal motion of partially charged atoms gives rise to a Lorentz field thus making the hydrogen bonds stronger when a significant magnetic field is applied.
However, when we delve into the individual stains themselves, the story gets a bit more interesting. Crystal Wash, water, and detergent all did about the same when it came to removing carbon, blood, and cocoa—meaning that hot water and agitation did most of the heavy lifting.
One major vendor warns of the supposed dangers of conventional detergents (they are, after all, “petrochemicals”!) One of their pages provides links to a report from an outside testing lab that, if genuine, gives all appearances of itself having been “laundered” in that no comparisons of the effectiveness of their magnetic balls are made with non-magnetic balls (or even with rocks!), or with conventional detergents.
Magnetic Laundry System is an incredible product that helps you get your clothes cleaned without even a single drop of toxic laundry detergent. It contains an independent lab testing report from one of the huge testing companies of the world. This product verifies unequivocally that this Magnetic Laundry System cleans all the garments, and does not damage the colours or the tensile strength of your fabrics. It is protected and tested by two patents. This product works as good as the environmentally friendly versions of pure detergent. It works on the front as well as on the top loading washers. You can bid farewell to all your worries about the toxic detergents for the rest of your life.
“Thus, the water molecule being a small magnet (dipole), one may effect its magnetic (or electric) field by causing the molecule to turn or rotate in one direction or the other, taking on a positive or negative higher potential, depending on whether the S (South, positive) or N (North, negative) outside magnetic field had been applied. ”

*UPDATE 3/2/16* Please see comment in the comment section below for the complete update. In short, still using this, still loving it, but there have been a few items it did not work on. I think the odor is literally in the threads used to make it, and the odor won’t go away no matter what I’ve tried.
A literature search for magnetic fuel treatment studies revealed that such studies are practically nonexistent. I found a total of three references. Two of these (Daly 1995; McNeely 1994) were anecdotal accounts describing the use of a magnetic treatment device to kill microorganisms in diesel fuel, a fuel treatment application not usually mentioned by magnetic fuel treatment vendors.
Shipping was super fast! Great service and super fast checkout! The item was a bit bigger than I expected but I didn’t take the time to measure my space vs. the size of the hamper. It’s great quality and I found a spot for it. It is a big hamper and it does indeed fit about 4 loads of laundry which is awesome! Thanks!
“Experiments were conducted in a test heat exchanger system to evaluate 10 non-chemical scale and corrosion control devices. These devices may perform either by electrostatic, magnetic, electronic, or catalytic mechanisms. Chemical tests also compared results with non-chemical systems to insure the test conditions were not so severe that scale prevention was impossible. Water from a single deep well known to cause calcium carbonate scale when heated was used in all tests. The test heat exchanger was a two-tube shell and tube with steam applied to the shell side. Water flow was either in series or parallel through the two tubes, depending on the desired test conditions. No device tested significantly reduced the amount of scale formed, compared to the controls. Proprietary chemicals containing phosphorous reduced scale formation almost completely.”
PATENTED AND INDEPENDENTLY PROVEN…There is no other non-detergent laundry technology in existence that has two United States Patents and has been proven in Independent Laboratory Testing to clean as well as chemical laundry detergent. This is truly different from the common laundry ball or washer ball products may have heard of. You have never seen, heard about or tried anything like it before!
UPDATE: There’s an excellent description here of why the alleged science behind the Magnetic Laundry System is bunk.  It’s excellent because it’s both extremely clear and extremely succinct.  Money quote: “This is just crazy gobbledegook made to sound impressive so people who don’t have any chemistry education will be impressed.”  Follow the link for more.
What is within our control is how we treat our customers. We have a number of companies who buy the product from us and retail to the consumer. Jonathan purchased the product through one of our distributors. I cannot confirm the information posted above, but I will nevertheless take his word for it.
See More
I just heard of these “laundry magnets” last week, when I visited my ex’s house after her brother-in-law’s memorial service (and, of course, brought a bag of laundry to do since it’s expensive/difficult to do laundry where I live). Her sister had just got those magnets, and the two of them swore by their efficacy. I was intrigued, but sadly knew that any questions I might have about just HOW a pair of magnets are supposed to remove non-ferrous matter would go unanswered. Neither my ex nor her sister did well in any Science class (well, my ex passed Intro to Biology in college…), and her sister has a reputation for being what I call an “all-day sucker” – she has clutter from at least 5 different pyramid schemes filling up their house, and hasn’t made a penny from any of them.
Statements such as
There is some evidence that externally-applied magnetic fields can provide relief of certain types of chronic pain. A major difficulty in any such study is in eliminating the placebo effect which generally requires a double-blind protocol. Here are a few recent references to the scientific literature:
